Next is Man City in the quarter final of the Carabao cup. Ben Chilwell and Daniel Amartey are injured and Jonny Evans is suspended. So here is what I would go with

    Ward

    Ricardo
    Maguire
    Morgan
    Fuchs

    Albrighton
    Iborra
    Ndidi
    Gray

    Maddison

    Vardy

Subs- Jakupovic, Soyuncu, Simpson, Mendy, Ghezzal, Okazaki, Iheanacho

With Chelsea up nest I think there will be one or two youngsters in the mix for this one. Not sure he will play our best 11 as following Chelsea we are back with City so he will want to offer something fifferent

Puel has benched Vardy according to John Percy

Puel is such a twat. Any sort of chance of success and he cost us everytime. He did the same thing last season when he benched Vardy and Mahrez. Its the quarter final for **** sake

And he is just coming back from a groin injury! To play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Wednesday could do a lot of damage if he isn't 100%. I'm sure Puel has been advised by the magnificent medical staff we have.

Does it really matter? They could put out a team of solely under 18’s and still beat us. We won’t have any ambition to win the game. I really was feeling positive under the last couple of weeks but recent games have just ground me down.
I do think even if we play what is perceived to be our strongest team we will lose but why prioritise the league game away at Chelsea where we will also get nothing over a chance to get to a semi final however remote the chance is beyond me. We will do bugger all in the league this season but should be safe from relegation barring an incredible slide so go for the cup ffs

I would rather play him tonight and not on saturday against Chelsea. We win tonight and we are in the semi finals and a chance of winning a trophy and getting into europe. We should throw everything we have at Man City tonight

I really hope if tonight doesnt go well the crowd turn on Puel and that forces Top and Rudkin to react

Although I’m turning personally, I still can’t see Top sacking him after everything that has happened before the end of the season unless we end up in the bottom 3 (not impossible by any means).
I agree we should throw everything at the cup

Top wont take his eye off the ball with the club. If he doesnt feel ready to take over fully yet im sure he has put someone in place who is.

Put it this way. Man City style of play has cost them massively against Vardy before

Against Man City while under Pep. Vardy smashed a hat trick in when we beat them 4-2. Then last season he was cynically fouled by Kompany within the first few mins when through on goal. Should have been a red

Scored against them in the Carabao to force extra time

Scored on the counter at the Etihad and a loose ball from Man City

As good as Man City are. They have struggled against Vardy

I’m not saying he will. What I mean is how much good values and loyalty mean to his culture. What Puel did well was handled the tragedy with class and supported the family and the club. Top will 100% not repay that by sacking him unless the club is in absolute trouble. Bobbing in mid table and playing as we are is frustrating as hell as we should be doing better definitely. It’s not a crisis though. I think he’ll be here for the season

Top wont be loyal to Puel because of circumstances if it isnt whats right. Yes he may give him more time but if there is the stadium calling for his head and the results are appaling and performances. Its naive to think because of how well Puel conducted himself that Top will just be patient with him

Agree to disagree. I’m not saying I want Puel around any longer but I’d say it’s wishful thinking to think Top will sack him unless things enter crisis point. The last two managers were only sacked getting in the bottom 3, Pearson not even then. They have always shown more loyalty than most despite the reputation we got after Ranieri. I also don’t think the whole stadium will be calling for his head. If anything the manner of the performances and results have created an atmosphere of indifference rather than anger imo. People may be more likely to vote with their feet if anything

    From Gary Lineker

I wonder if there’s any chance of Claude Puel picking his strongest side for tonight’s quarter final v @ManCity. We’re not going to qualify for the Champions League and we’re not in any danger of relegation. Might be nice to try and win something rather than try and finish 8th.

Schmeichel aside it should be our strongest team. Ward has proven himself to be a good keeper and deserve to continue for the cup

8th is looking highly unlikely from recent games and judging by tonight's line up we'll not be progressing in the cup :headbang:
