Robert Huth is suspended but apart from that everyone else is fit and available. So here is what i would go with Schmeichel Simpson Morgan Hernandez Fuchs Mahrez Mendy Drinkwater Schlupp Musa Vardy Subs- Zieler, Wasilewski, King, Kaputska, Albrighton, Gray, Okazaki
Why change formation and also why to a defensive one as we are playing Hull who only have 7 fit senior players. We should stick with the tried and tested 4-4-2. Kasper Simpson Morgan Hernandez Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Mendy Albrighton Okazaki Vardy
I think that an unleashed Vardy, Mahrez and Musa is the complete opposite of defensive. Amartey to be the "quarterback" and hold everything together with Drinkwater and Mendy to continually spray the ball about. If I were to use a 4-4-2 then I'd put Gray at left mid for Mendy and have Vardy and Musa up front.
The high pressing game did us well last season - don't see any reason to stop now. Would need that against Hull who will be defending deep so spraying the ball won't work if there isn't space for Vardy and Musa.
I think Muse will be in for Okazaki. That would be the only change from the Manc Poo game, apart from Huth that is.
No l have no idea about that & after 4 odd years of writing it (on the prem Lge board & once or twice on their's, aswell as on here) funny no ones mentioned it. As trying to be funny. No difference in calling Forest trees or Derby sheep (if the chant don't exist) I'll look around on the net & if l find a reference l'll stop. But it really means they're Mancs & l think they're crap as l really don't like them.
Schmeichel Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Mendy Drinkwater Albrighton Vardy Musa or .... Schmeichel Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mendy Drinkwater Gray -------- Mahrez -------- Musa Vardy
I know he is a particular favourite of yours Weller, but Albrighton has been pretty poor so far this season and wasn't that great towards the end of last ... Schlupp in contrast did well against PSG and him and Musa then did excellently against Barca ... Albrighton just seems to give the ball away constantly if he's not taking a free kick / corner etc ... 3 at risk of not starting currently.(for me) are Albrighton, King and Simpson ... Fuchs was great against United (otherwise I think he would have been nervous too) ... this is how I think we will start against Hull, Schmeichel Fuchs Hernandez Morgan Simpson Schlupp Drinkwarer Mendy Mahrez Okazaki Vardy
Wasn't Schlupp playing as a LB in those games with Gray as a left winger ahead of him? Regarding Simpson, I agree - proves we need another specialist RB as Hernandez or Amartey don't cut it for me.
... yes against PSG ... but he played on the right wing against Barca and robbed the left-back to put Musa in for his second ...
Of last season starting line up I think we will see alot less of Okazaki and Albrighton this season Talk of Perez coming in and Musa signing will limit Okazaki's chances And Schlupp and Gray emergence and being alot more direct suiting our style of play will see them start alot more this season
He is very much a favourite of mine, integral to the system we have played for a season and a quarter. This "seasons" games have only been little more than friendlies so far and fitness progressions for the match at Hull. I anticipate that we will have to change the way we play this season and if we go 4-3-3 or 4-1(Mendy) - 3- 2 etc. then Albrighton may have to move to the bench. No problem with that at all. Mahrez has been poor pre season as well, lets see how the league starts for us - I reckon we're in for some high scoring matches.
Schmeichel Simpson - Hernandez - Morgan - Fuchs Mahrez - Mendy - Drinkwater - Albrighton Okazaki - Vardy Not my team but I think that's what it will be. Personally I'd like to start seeing Chilwell and Gray down our left side as they're younger and more dynamic and would like to see them develop a partnership, a weak Hull is a good place to start. Musa will probably come on to stretch their defence. Mendy's starting to improve, personally I'd like to have Amartey in midfield but I think Claudio may be favouring his versatility on the bench right now.
Albrighton might be sweating but Okazaki will be first choice for a while as without Kante he will take up the running around like a nutter trying to get the ball position. Maybe Musa will become that but he seems more of a straight line runner and might be more of a Vardy replacement once he figures out how to press the opposition more.
