In his press conference at lunch time today Kit confirmed that Kavanagh and Hoogland are ruled out, while Amorebieta is very doubtful and Voser is only just returning from injury.

This game is going to be tough; Powell has Huddersfield well organised, they are pacy and in form. So there will be no room for the complacency we showed at the start of the Blackpool game. We really could do with bolstering the defence but it’s difficult to see how, given the current squad and availability. Hopefully Kit won’t resort to the likes of Fotheringham!

My guess is he’ll stick with his ’tried and tested’ (very tested at times) and go for -

    ………………..Bettinelli………………….
    ..Zverotic…Bodurov…Burn…..Stafylidis..
    …Christensen…Parker…Hyndman..
    ..Ruiz……………………..McCormack..
    …………….Hugo…..

Leaves us pretty vulnerable on our right hand side but can’t see many options.

It's a case of trying to stabilise a leaky defense or try to attack and score more goals than the opposition.
We seem to have attacking fullbacks who can't cross a ball properly, so I don't see the point in them attacking.
With McCormack coming back we have more threat and options from corners and freekicks.

    ………………..Bettinelli………………….
    ..Zverotic…Bodurov…Burn…..Stafylidis..
    ........Parker...Christensen....
    ....Ruiz…...McCormack....Williams....
    ………......……Rodallega......

The trouble with our defence ? you cannot make a silk purse from a cows ear,
so I suppose kit has to make the most of it for another 7/8 weeks.

Very tempted to get LVC on the back of my shirt.

    McCormack is a close second.

Yeah LVC is an absolute beast.

What a goal by McCormack. That's what £46m buys you.

Well our problems still persist, but I'll take that all day long. The Cottage is becoming a fortress again.

We have our problems, but that is 6 games unbeaten in the league. We all know where we need to strengthen, but LVC & Parker are certainly starting to give me some confidence and there are always goals in this team.

I may also be a little tipsy following the heartbreak of England/All-Blacks; make of that what you will!

Quite. 4 wins and a draw in the last 5 (league) at home too.

Better get another few down you, too early to stop now! I'm off to watch the QPR - City game down the pub so I daresay I'll be in a similar place soon enough...

A good result. Rodders, could have had a hat trick, but still had a good game. LVC what a revelation he has been MC C, great performance. ( what a goal)
Ruiz covered a lot of ground, especially covering for the W O S Zverotic, and for me Bettinelli, a big problem.no command of his area, no positional sense,
and does not distribute quick enough. But all in all 3 great points.

McCormack just shaded MOTM for me, but LVC and Parker were strong. Hugo was much improved over Wednesday, partly due to our #44 - both deserved goals. LVC's desire for his goal was great. Our defending still looks worrisome, but we'll live with it provided we can score more.
I would not be so harsh on young Bettinelli - and he got to one ball that others would have failed to get.

Chris Powell must be wondering how they got nothing - probably the 3 on-target from 16 attempts (FFC: 6 from 13 is why we won). Huddersfield fans gave their all today to add to the excitement - although McCormack scoring was a great respost.

6 games unbeaten in the league - Onwards and upwards. COYW!!

What a cracker - it bettered any of the eleven who razzled and romped during the break.

Okay, there are still some problems - and GS I’ve got to agree with rosc on all the points he makes about Bettinelli’s performance. However, you can’t fault the fight and desire shown by the lads today. Scotty Parker (loads of tackles) and LVC (acres of ground covered) were terrific. Stafylidis also should get plaudits for sticking to his task against a very fast and strong winger.

I was particularly impressed how quickly we countered on the break, especially in the first half . That’s something we’ve not seen from the team in a long while and credit here has to go, in the main, to McCormack. He was my MOTM.

Great to get 3 points. Huddersfield are a good side. They dominated the 2nd half really but we stood firm, rode our luck a bit but scorec 3 superb goals.

We are frail in defence but weve discussed this at length already. I do have to mention Lasse VC though. The lad is terrific. Runs non stop, technically very good and a great team player. I love watching him play. What a find. At the beginning of the seadon I thought Hyndman would be the one to come through but he faltered a bit.

Tge other 2 players that deserve a mention are McCormack and Hugo. McCormack, for me, is top drawer. He slots in everywhere and links up beautifully with everyone. I actualky think hes unplayable at times. Hugo is rejuvenated with Kit. He still misses a few but on Saturday he scored one and got 2 assists.

All in all great stuff, we did play some nice foitball too.

Worth remembering that Hyndman is only 18 and therefore a little bit behind LVC.

As an aside, McCormack is the player that makes us tick. He has plenty of fee to pay back, but he is certainly doing so right now.

One critical factor this season is the team's height... There are not many tall players who can win a header. It is becoming more and more noticeable both defending and going forward. Not an immediate solution to this but we need to keep the ball down!

Agreed Surly. I commented on Hyndmsn as he seemed to get more game time at the start of the season.

    Good to be winning again.

Amorebieta might help with that, hopefully!

True and he looked very good too. He needs to mature a little bit physically; he can be picked on a little bit in the Championship. High potential though.
