3 wins on the bounce but both Ritchie De Laet and Anthony Knockaert picked up knocks against Middlesbrough. I would only make 1 change from the team that played in the past 3 games. I would bring in Andy King for Matty James but should De Laet or Knockaert miss out Dyer and Moore will come into the side. So here is what I would play Schmeichel De Laet Morgan St. Ledger Konchesky Marshall Drinkwater King Knockaert Vardy Nugent Subs- Logan, Whitbread, Moore, Dyer, James, Waghorn, Futacs NOTE- Jermaine Beckford cant play for Huddersfield under terms of the loan
Whilst I do like having Andy King in the team as he offers a more attacking threat, I think it would be wrong to break up a currently successful midfield partnership in Drinkwater and James, particularly if we are playing them as deeper-lying midfielders. That said, Andy King has probably, after Morgan and probably Drinkwater, been our most consistent player (when he's played) this season, and it sounded as if his introduction on Saturday really helped change the game (as it has done a few times this season).
****! we would have had more chance of winning Same team for me, or as close as possible minus injuries.
Assuming De Laet's fit then I agree with the 11 Proud but in a slightly different shape to you. I like the 4-2-3-1 that we've been playing recently with Knocky behind the front man with Vardy on the left and Marshall right. I prefer Ben that side because he becomes too predictable on the left - always cutting back to his right.
I disagree, I would swap them around as I like the idea of playing Marshall on the left, cutting inside and then shooting. He's got a better shot on him than cross, plus it narrows the field a little and should hopefully allow some interchange between the 3. However, I would go as far as to play them like this: Vardy Marshall - Nugent - Knockaert It might mean Knockaert loses a little bit of influence in the centre of the park, but would allow balance across the team, with Nugent even playing more of a free role.
Drinkwater and King are the winning partnership. we scored the goals when it was them 2 As proud has it
We scored 2 goals when he came on against Middlesbrough and stabilised our midfield - as Foxesontheup wrote King and Drinkwater are our best partnership.
Lloyd is a bit like Theo Walcott. He is better used off the bench. There isnt many better players to bring off the bench then Dyer
