Matt Upson is out having had foot surgery, Anthony Knockaert is currently on crutches but their isn't any major concerns and Marc Albrighton came off with a knock against Werder Bremen. Jamie Vardy is the only other player who is carrying a knock but no major issues are expected with him. Its unlikely any new signings (If any are made this week) will come straight into the starting line up now so here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Albrighton James Drinkwater Mahrez Nugent Ulloa Subs- Hamer, Wasilewski, Schlupp, King, Hammond, Knockaert, Vardy
I thought Albrighton was out with a groin injury? If so, ill go for Kasper RDL Morgan Moore Konch (not keen but think he will get the nod over Schlupp) GTF James DD Mahrez Nugent Ulloa
I don´t give two ****s, I´m just ****ing glad we won´t be playing in that HORRID ****ing red kit. What the **** happend to white (2nd) & yellow (3rd). ****ING RED
I don't think we can afford to play both Konchesky and Wasilewski together as lack of pace will cost us so either Moore or Schlupp need to start
Kasper DL Morgan Moore Konch (though i prefere schlupp) Drinkwater James Mahrez Nugent Vardy Ulloa though wouldnt be what i choose.
I'd go for Kasper RDL Morgan Moore Konch Vardy James Drinkwater Mahrez Nugent Ulloa Subs Hamer, Was, Schlupp, King, GTF, Hammond, Wood This is assuming Knocky and Albrighton are both unavailable
I'm surprised so many seem to think Vardy will start I'd be really surprised if he does as he has missed a lot of game time and won't be as sharp as the others (Taylor fletcher excluded lol)
I really have no idea how Nigel will line up for this one ... if Cambiasso signs he could bring him on from the bench late in the game or merely introduce him to the crowd at half time etc ... so I'll leave him out ... Konch is a liability for me (even in the Championship) ... so I'd rather we start with Schlupp ... as to the permutation ... I think it will depend on who is fit (in terms of formation up front) ... he may also go 'cautious' in this first game to try and at least get a point on the board ... gonna be a tough old season but I'd still rather have our squad (plus the potential additions) than many others in this league ... does make me laugh that other fans come on totally discounting our achievement last season ... it's as if they forgotten the bloody game is 'football' and the basic ingredients are always the same ...
We seem to have real problems out wide with mahrez and knocky out - i said we were a LM short. Im worried we will now pack the midfield instead of wingers, but we always lose that way
Not really we have plenty of options ...... Vardy is likely to make it but might not be risked ... Mahrez will take one of the wide berths and the other could well go to Schlupp (or Vardy) if Albrighton doesn't make it ... alternatively we could play Ulloa up on his own and let Nugent drift wider .. we don't lack for options ... any of Schlupp, Wood, Nugent or Gary-Taylor Fletcher could play in strike partnership with Ulloa if Vardy isn't fit ... further, if the rumours are to be believed ... we might well have added Troy Deeney to the squad by the weekend ... ... as I posted elsewhere ... I've always expected to see a couple of more 'significant additions' prior to the big kick-off ... Cambiasso and Deeney are currently the most likely if the press reports are to be believed.
Yet, even if those four all miss out, we can still field the team HarboroughFox mentioned. Schlupp has apparently been impressing playing in the wide role. He certainly has the pace for it.
... and strength ... him and Liam Moore have both been in the gym again over the close season by the look of it ...
I heard Moore has slimmed down. Unusual move for a centre back, he obviously believes he can be faster than he already is!
I watched him in the Toulon tournament over the summer ... he has lost some 'puppy-fat' but has muscled up ... will hold his own in a physical battle ... as will Jeff Schlupp.
