Another big game, a win could see us go up to 4th while a defeat could see us fall back outside the play offs. Crystal Palace have now been dragged into the mix and its now 5 teams going for 3 places. If we show the fight we did last night we should be more then alright but we cant keep giving away soft goals and penalties like we have in recent weeks. There is no injuries from last night so it should be the same team to start. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Keane Morgan Konchesky Knockaert James King Dyer Wood Schlupp Subs- Logan, Moore, Drinkwater, Marshall, Nugent, Waghorn, Vardy
Although there were no injuries, De Laet looked ****ing shattered. Wonder if he'll be O.K for 90 minutes against Zaha/Bolasie.
i mean replace DL with Moore or Knockaert for Marshall for more protection depending on how the game goes.
Konchesky was dire again last night. I'd still prefer Moore over him at LB. The rest depends on fitness, but if De Laet is fit then the only change I'd consider would be Marshall for Knockaert. Wood and Schlupp must start in a front 2 together again.
If were worried about De Laet be exposed we should be terrified of Konchesky being done. Ritchie De Laet strength is his pace so we could always take Knockaert out and put De Laet right wing with Liam Moore right back. That way he will have cover. Lloyd Dyer will cover Konchesky
De Laet and Dyer pace will more then match Zaha and Bolasie. If we still need strength there Jeff Schlupp can move around. Thats the great thing about Schlupp, he offers us alot of flexability with formations
Schlupp's scored 2 in 2, and struck up a good partership with Wood last night. I'd want him up front unless it was absolutely essential for him to be elsewhere.
Sounds like Dyer had a decent game, can anyone there confirm this? I remember him being very good in the last few games the last time we reached the play-offs, his experience is very useful at the moment.
Yeah he was excellent, we saw the best of Lloyd Dyer last night, something that we haven't seen often enough whilst he's been at the club imo. That's the problem with Dyer though, he's either a 9/10 or a 4/10, there's rarely any middle ground with him. He'll probably be dreadful against Palace...
What people have to remember with pace players at this level though is that if they had the final product more often then they would be in the premier league. The fact that they are so fast is what makes them so effective.
I have said many times. If Lloyd Dyer had an end product and was more consistent he would be in the prem You just have to accept some players will have faults
... the thought of Konchesky up against the division's most formidable penalty winning machine collective is cause for sleepless nights ...
Tom Ince, George Boyd, Matt Phillips, Craig Bellamy, Adomah, Sako, Zaha .. OK Zaha is 'virtually' there
