Back on home turf after 2 disappointing results away from home despite playing well for most of them. Nigel Pearson has said Zak Whitbread and Sean St. Ledger should be available for this week but weather he means starting remains the be seen. Liam Moore picked up a knock against Blackburn so he may not be risked. I wouldnt change too much as we need to create some momentum but a few changes wont do any harm So here is what I would play Schmeichel De Laet St. Ledger Morgan Konchesky Marshall King Danns Knockaert Nugent Vardy Subs- Logan, Whitbread, James, Dyer, Waghorn, Futacs, Schlupp
I'd swap SSL for Moore and Knockaert for Dyer then play the same side against Blackpool. We need some winning momentum.
Liam Moore got injured today. Dyer has had his chance and against a League 2 side Knockaert more then deserves his chance after some very impressive cameo appearances. Lets see what he can do from the start
Drop Dyer, into the pacific perhaps, then play waggy and Becks up front and threaten them with a slow painful death if they don't bang in a hatrick each!
Logan De Laet Whitbread SSL Kennedy Knocks Danns James Schlupp Waghorn Futacs Tell them places are up for grabs in the first XI subs: KS, nugent, King, Dyer, Vardy Drinks Becks
I would usually agree to keep the same team but the fringe players (I hope) must be chomping at the bit wanting to play so this is their opportunity to impress.. likely to apply themselves more than the others in case of risk of injury. This would be my way to approach the game.. Pearson I suspect will stick
I dont know whether Knockaert will do 180 minutes a week, maybe his fitness is a problem, because i see no other reason for him not starting. Shouldn't have Leicesters Ronaldo coming off the bench for the last 20 mins, need to play a full game.
How was Knockaert in the Blackburn game? I've been away a few days and have no idea what's going on (apart from the losing to Blackburn, OUR SEASON'S OVER ALREADY stuff). I'd probably start Whitbread in this game, leaving St. Ledger fresh for Blackpool, although maybe bring him on for 20 minutes at the end. Think Whitbread will eventually be Morgan's partner, but in terms of general fitness and known ability, it has to be St. Ledger at the moment. Don't think we should drop Konchesky, he's always useful in these situations, has good match fitness, and on the whole his odd stupid moments are more than neutralised by his usual consistency. I'd also want to start some of the youngsters- definitely Schlupp, where's he been so far? Also bring back James, start Knockaert, and maybe put Moore at his chosen right back position as he could well be losing his CB place soon. Therefore my team would look like this: Schmeichel Konchesky - Whitbread - Morgan - Moore Knockaert - James - Danns - Marshall Futacs - Schlupp
Knockaert has looked good in every cameo so far. He put in a great cross for Jamie Vardy's "offside" goal. If fully expect him to get a start tommorow. He surely has to be one of the most exciting players we have had down here for some time
Charlie, you remember how we mocked you about you pretending to know anything about Knockaert before and how your own fans joined in, even OLM......Well - Just a minute Charlie, are you still holding your breath from that earlier outburst, Charlie, CHARLIE BREATHE
Charles has been telling us this morning how much he knows about Liam Moore aswell. Apparently Charles knows everything about every player despite never seeing them play
