So now we know who is available and this is the first match where the team won't pick itself ..... ....Name the team for Burnley away Personally I would go unchanged as a sign of respect and thanks to the battlers who have all earned their places.
Mason in for Meyler only change for me, nothing against Meyler but it's games like this where his lack of quality on the ball shows the most
I just think it would be a real statement of intent if Phelan stuck with the same team. It would be like saying if you earn the place you get it no matter who you are, and if someone else wants it they have to force their way in, no matter who they are.
No one deserves to lose their spot in the starting line up, so all the new blokes warm the bench until needed
I have a feeling MP may start with the same team as Man U if fitness allows. If he does go for a change, I would go with Mason and Mbokani in for Meyler and Dio.
Only replace players for better players.. Mason for Meyler as others suggested. No one else deserves to lose their place.
Mbokani in for Hernandez because of his travelling. Also Mason for Myler. Very harsh on Meyler but there,s no point paying £13 million for a player & not trying him.
Same team as Man U with the new boys on the bench. If there has to be a change maybe Mbonkani for Hernandez, same reason as given above. Snodgrass has to play if fit, that hat trick last night will have him brimming with confidence.
The record signing will likely start, or at the very least play some part. He could replace Meyler though I read he might be better in a more forward role. And I heard Henrikson can play up front sometimes, so there are various options.
Uruguay play early hours of Thursday morning. I cant see Hernandez making the starting lineup against Burnley. Mbokani for Hernandez, Mason for Meyler, Maguire in the back 4 and Livermore back in centre mid. Move Clucas back out wide in place of Dio
I think this is a really interesting game and could shape the season. Seriously. If we lose then the first 2 games will seem a long time ago as we look nervously ahead to a tough run, if we win then we open a big gap to a rival even for this stage. We've only conceded 1 league goal from open play and we've been behind for all of 1 minute all season. I'd take a nil-nil to keep this going.
Youd drop him after conceding 2 goals in 3 games - 1 a penalty and the other in the 93rd minute vs one of the best strikeforces in the country? You're a tough cookie.
Mason in for Meyler, you don't spend 13m or whatever it was to leave him on the bench, what if the same team performed well again do you continue to leave him out until we eventually put in a train wreck of a performance? Marshall should also go straight into the team. There's simply no point in delaying the inevitable.
Keep the same team as much as possible - fitness depending - and then all bets are off. Regardless of the limited player numbers and transfer fees etc, after the start to the season the shirts are there to be taken from the incumbents.
