No injuries from the other night but alot of poor performances might see changes. Lloyd Dyer could come into the team in the place of either Anthony Knockaert or Riyad Mahrez. Danny Drinkwater and Matty James both had poor games so Dean Hammond could be brought in to add some experience. David Nugent was poor but he has a knack for scoring against Burnley. Jamie Vardy will should play his normal game after playing cautiously in the previous 2 games. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Wasilewski Schlupp Knockaert Drinkwater James Mahrez Vardy Nugent Subs- Logan, Moore, Hammond, King, Dyer, Phillips, Wood
It´s a ´don´t lose game' for me so whoever plays had better be at their best. I had this thought that we will be **** til the end of the season, Burnley will win the lge & it´ll have us all sweating come the last 4 games. 2 draws in a row is a bad run for us, oh & btw, our unbeaten run started at Burnley..... Sorry forgot to wish you all a NICE DAY
Don't think we will play so poorly again and it is not panic time so no changes for me. Some credit must go to Yeovil for their result against us. We know we often struggle against teams near the bottom but think we will be buzzing for this one. Burnley likely to be without Ings, Trippier and Marney which are all big losses so confident of at least a point.
not sure playing Schmeichel up front on his own is a good idea would prob go with the team that finished on Tuesday with woods partnering Kasper up front they seem to have built an understanding between them Kasper scores woods claims the goal.
I wouldn't be dropping Mahrez ... if Lloyd comes in it would be for Knocky at this point .. I'd go with Proud's line-up hoping that they have had the proverbial kick-up-the-arras ...
So the formation that ended Tuesday Morgan De Laet Schlupp Drinkwater James Mahrez Knockaert Phillips Schmeichel Wood Should we start with that?
I agree with Proud's team. As was stated earlier, I believe they will have 3 important players missing. Let's get at them, score the first goal and put any niggling doubts to rest. Can't wait for the game
Noooooooooooooo ... Mahrez has been our most inventive / creative wide performer by some distance in the last few games (Vardy's goal at Brum, Vardy's goal at Barnsley, Wes' goal against Blackpool his own goal against Blackpool the chance Vardy put over the bar against Blackburn) ... if Dyer comes back in then, on form, it has to be for Knocky ... Mahrez played on te right for Le Harvre ...
I'd keep the team the same, with the threat that if they play as badly on Tuesday there'll be changes. However, I think that was probably a blip; our key players all just had a poor game and we lacked cohesion. I know he 'got' the winning goal (it's still Kasper's in my eyes) but Wood didn't do anything to convince me he should be starting any time soon.
I would drop Knockaert over Mahrez Mahrez has been superb recently while I cant think of the last time Knockaert really did something. He was much more of an enigma last season. I just hope he doesnt suffer from the "Ben Marshall" syndrome where he goes completely off the boil when someone threatens his role as the creative spark
Personally thought Mahrez was gash in the second half against Blackburn and was really off his game against Yeovil. He's obviously a great little player but I think we should bring Lloyd back in. His partnership with Schlupp is brilliant.
I think I agree with AKCJ. Mahrez is still learning the English game and I don't think we should put too much responsibility on his shoulders at this crucial time. Lloyd for me. If De Laet is 100%, I'd stick with him and Schlupp. The rest of the team picks itself. Aren't these great problems to have though? Is it one quality player or another? Good times indeed.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26693781 Good news for us - they are their best performers imho.
Not often you and I agree Proud but with you 100% here ... Mahrez has been in more than one Championship team of the week recently and was undeniably the key factor in turning the Blackpool game around ... I too am finding it difficult to remember when Knocky last had as significant an effect on a game ... AKCJ cites Mahrez as being gash against Yeovil ... personally I found the performances of Nugent, Vardy, Matty James and DD (until the injury time superb cross) more disappointing ... ball control seemed to go out the window ... didn't feel that with Mahrez.
