Paul Konchesky is suspended for 3 games after getting sent off against Coventry at the weekend. Konchesky said on twitter Nigel isn't appealing the red but with 3 games in a a week the suspension will be over soon. Nigel's options are to go into the loan market for cover, Beg Bruno to come out of retirement, play Tom Kennedy there or switch Lee Peltier over and put Sean St. Ledger a right back with Sol Bamba or Matt Mills coming back in. Neil Danns didnt have the best game ever on saturday so Danny Drinkwater may come in but i dont think Nigel will change him especially with us finally getting some momentum going. Paul Gallagher should be on the bench and apart from that no changes will be needed no here is what I would play

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    St. Ledger
    Morgan
    Kennedy

    Marshall
    Danns
    Wellens
    Dyer

    Nugent
    Beckford

    Subs

    Logan, Bamba, Gallagher, Drinkwater, Schlupp

Injuries aside, I'd be amazed if Nige did anything other than a straight swap of Kennedy for Konchesky - the momentum is building..

Agree that Kennedy for Konchesky should be the only change. We're finally getting some continuity in the side and something resembling cohesion on a consistent basis now so, for me, it would be un-wise to change that. Drinkwater is unlucky though in the sense that he looked good and just broke into the team before his injury.

Think Howard will come in instead of Logan on the bench though.

I hate this 'short bench' the FA have foisted on teams. Much better would be 5 outfield players plus a compulsory goalie.

They should of done 5+2 players brought through the academy. That way it gives the academy players a chance and you still get a decent quota of subs to pick from

I wonder how much this effected Sven in the summer with them changing the rule

Nugent is a doubt with a knee injury. If he doesn't make it then Shlupp should play.

Nugent will be fine. He got injured scoring the goal but he still managed to carry on so he will be fine

He will probaly get subbed off after 70 mins

Agreed....keep team the same apart from Kennedy for Konchesky. As for the just five on a the bench rule, the old farts @ the F.A have to keep "Farting About" with the rules & being busy bodies in general, to justify their existence.
Most of these ....s have never kicked a ball in their lives with the exception of Trevor Brooking!
I still really fancy us for the play offs now especially if we collect three points tonight, as our achilles heel this season has been when we play teams below us or smaller clubs, like Hull & Leeds:emoticon-0128-hi::emoticon-0128-hi: ! So on that basis & the fact we then play Dreading & Brum respectively I am quite optimistic :1980_boogie_down:
