We have a fully fit squad for the first time this season. Zak Whitbread and Sean St. Ledger are both available for selection which allowed Liam Moore to go out on loan to Brentford. After a poor performance against Charlton there will probably be a few changes in the team. Both Ben Marshall and Anthony Knockaert had the worst games of the season in mid week and Paul Gallagher and Lloyd Dyer both made decent impacts coming off the bench. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Keane Konchesky Gallagher Drinkwater James Dyer Wood Nugent Subs- Logan, St. Ledger, Marshall, Knockaert, King, Waghorn, Kane
Can see Dyer for Marshall but not Gallagher for Knockaert. Also think St. Ledger might have a look in.
Knockaert looked tired last night. I think a rest will do him well, he will be a great impact sub plus Gally made a decent impact when he came on and he had a hand in the goal
Schmeichel De Laet Morgan St Ledger Keane Knockaert Drinkwater King Dyer Wood Nugent Subs- Logan, Konchesky, Marshall, Gallagher, James, Waghorn, Vardy
I agree with Proud that Knocky wasn't himself last night. No doubt Stringer will be calling for his bessie mate Gallagher to get a run. He's so far up his arse it's unreal. Why was he interview by Radio Leicester last night? He was a sub FFS. I'm far from convinced he's the answer - that said, he did look fit and eager, but Knocky has more talent in his little finger. Marshall has done little all season. Hard to believe he's the same player that was arguably the best we had last season. Don't see how Dyer coming in will do any harm, as frustrating as he is. Hopefully Woody will be a bit sharper by Sat too - not utterly convinced he has recovered yet. Filberto - leaving Konch out? I think he's one of the only players than still seems to be bursting with energy. I think Keane's naivety shows at times but St Ledger - is he fit to go and is it a good idea to bring him back in away from home? Conclusion - **** knows. I'll leave it to Nige!
The Blackpool pitch is going to be awful, is this the kind of surface for people like St. Ledger to return on, Knockaert for his tricks and flicks We need to adapt to the conditions and part of that is preparing for them
Matty James has been ruled out... http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....tory-18220986-detail/story.html#axzz2LdBOJjEe
So does Wellens or King come in Or do we change formation? We could play 4-3-3 with Wellens, King and Drinkwater in midfield with 3 strikers. You could have Nugent, Wood and Kane or even Knockaert playing up top
Nugent could always drop back to the left wing if we needed him to. Its case of by doing this are we leaving De Laet and Konchesky a little exposed to Blackpools wingers? Tom Ince spends most of his time coming inside so if we congest the middle of the park he will have to stay out wide
In the reverse Nigel had Liam Moore and Jeff Schlupp successfully countering the pace and trickery of Tom Ince and Matt Phillips - where is the latter these days - is he still with them? - at the start of the season he was well ahead of Ince in terms of big transfer talk etc...
