No injuries from the win over Wigan meaning it will probably be the same team that started on saturday. Matty James returns from suspension but will probably have to make do with a place on the bench. So here is what I would go with Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky Knockaert King Drinkwater Dyer Vardy Nugent Subs- Logan, Whitbread, Bakoyogo, Hammond, James, Wood, Schlupp
Don't think anyone could argue with yesterday's team starting against Blackburn. I do think James is one of our best players, but I wouldn't want to tinker with that team.
Problems for you versus Rovers, 3 young ex-tigers in their team: Cairney, Evans and King (plus Danns is sure to score if he plays)
Don't change winning teams (unless there is someone injured) ... huge difference yesterday was creativity ... don't think we have it when we play King, James AND Drinkwater together
I think the lack of creativity is more because Dyer and Knockaert wasnt playing rather then them 3 was playing When Nugent, Wood and Vardy start together we struggle to link the midfield and strikers together. You need a Wayne Rooney type striker who will drop deep to get the ball and make things happen. Nugent does it sometimes. Knockaert links the midfield with the strikers and creates space for the strikers to exploit. Vardy stretched their backline superbly with his runs yesterday, he still has a few rough edges but he is a totally different player to last season We now need to sort his hair out as it is shocking
I don't think Vardy has changed much since last season, he was doing most of the stuff that hes doing this season, but we weren't getting the results. Performance wise we are worse than this time last season, thought our performances last year at this time against Charlton, Wolves and BBrn were some of the best, yet the results didn't go our way, this year is the reverse, which isn't a bad thing at all tbh, give me results over performance anyday p.s. the words "Dyer" and "Creativity" should never be in the same sentence.
I'd disagree there to some extent Wizard - not saying that he will ever deliver defence splittling passes on the money etc - but his sheer pace disrupts defences, making defenders come out of position etc and that by itself creates opportunities for us (Leeds for instance) ...
Fair point, but i don't really relate speed/pace to creativity, i agree that hes a handful, but only when hes running at defenders and im not sure i saw him take on their fullback one-on-one at all on Saturday, overall he "creates" very little. Then again Creativity is all subjective, i would say Knockeart is creative because of his skill, not all the time, but when he used it to create a chance for himself on the edge of the box, it was very clever.
I'd normally go with the same team after a good win but I think Wood deserves a start with Vardy soon. with only a 2 days recovery after wigan might be worth giving nuge a rest and wood a game.
Well done ladies. 2-0 and that looks like my bet is safe. Won a few bob on you ****ers on Saturday as well.
It's a compliment that I'm wagering my hard earned on your team to win ya daft frigger. Think about it.
