Riyad Mahrez is away with Algeria for the African cup of nations, Kasper Schmeichel, Jeff Schlupp and Esteban Cambiasso are injured. Andy King, Danny Drinkwater and Dean Hammond are all doubts. Paul Konchesky returns from suspension. Andrej Kramanic is yet to receive a work permit so he will also miss out. So here is what I would play

    Hamer

    Simpson
    Morgan
    Wasilewski
    De Laet

    Albrighton
    James
    Drinkwater
    Knockaert

    Nugent
    Ulloa

Subs- Schwarzer, Moore, Konchesky, King, Lawrence, Vardy, Wood

Team pretty much picks itself this week through one thing and another,
Hope Albrighton and Knocky take their chance

Pretty much the only team we can play right now, although I think Konchesky will be in at left back.

Agree with the team. Big big game for us. Shame we have no Cambiasso. Nugents work rate gets him in but if not working after an hour get Vardy in. Need to take it to them and hopefully win well.

    Negatives

    No Mahrez
    No Kasper
    No Schlupp
    No Cambiasso (big loss!)
    No Hammond
No Drinkwater (to an extent, though not as gutted as Cambiasso and Hammond missing)
    Konchesky is back
    No Kramaric

    Positives

    ...?

Positives- Villa aren't that good, and we're playing well. Got a really good chance for a first home win since September.

I´ll tell you what. We´ll see from now til the end of the season how much LC wants to stay in the prem & how much of a motivater NP is.

We havn´t played to bad all season (apart from giving away some really silly goals that you just can´t do in the prem) so v all the current bottom 10 teams we realy should be showing that there are atleast 3 teams worse than us.

My English team are bottom in the prem & my German team 2nd from bottom in the Bundes liga & I predict both will stay up.

The next 3 home games are must wins IMO. Looking at our next 5 away games, I'm not expecting any more than a point!

Also, sounds like both Hammond and Drinkwater are available. I'd go with Hammond and James to give us a little solidity in the middle of the park, and tell Albrighton/Knockaert to get as many balls into Ulloa as possible. I hope Albrighton starts, he'll be raring to go against his former club!

Pretty unsurprising line-up. Konchesky's back in (should have played De Laet) and James and Hammond are in the middle of the park. Nice to see Albrighton and Knockaert in, and Hamer keep his place!

Nice to see a win, and of all the players to score! I've been critical of Konchesky, but he took his goal well, and the defence in general were very good. We should have stuck another 2 or 3 past Villa, who were truly woeful. However, hopefully the arrival of one or two quality strikers should make a difference. Have no idea why James was sent off!

    Massive result and massive performance.

If we'd have taken our chances we'd have dicked Villa for about 5.

    Fine combative performance ..
... if only Nuge could finish ... but Kamaric (who can) must be rubbing his hands together in anticipation of getting such chances ...
... thought it was a pen - Leo about to pull the trigger and the Villa lad appeared to lunge for the ball but missed it and took Leos leg(s) ...
... not sure Matty James did that much wrong for the red ... thought he got the ball in the tackle and that the 'aggressor' in the subsequent flare up was Clarke ... (is this the second time that one of ours is unfairly treated in a flare up with a Villa player) ... again will be interesting to see on MOTD ...
... most positive thing is that we are unbeaten in 4 against Prem teams and would have won all 4 if the ref hadn't taken an Anfield love potion pre kick-off <laugh>

High studs by Matty - had to go I am afraid. Will be missing for 3 games, so should be able to return to the team at the same time as Schlupp and Mahrez.

The team we play next week will be interesting. Dean Hammond came off injured, Matty James will be suspended. Hopefully Andrej Kramaric will be cleared to sign for us, Esteban Cambiasso and Danny Drinkwater should be fit aswell so there will be a few changes

While Nugent played well and nearly scored a beauty with the volley he showed why he isn't good enough with his finishing so I would imagine Kramaric would come straight in if he signs
