Professional footballers should be able to use both feet. Also, playing someone (Pearce) six inches outta position should not have that much of an impact on his game. Welcome to the Leeds forum pal!!!
Well normally you have 2 right footed center half's so what's the fuss? We may even play 2 lefts and a right tonight anyway with Pearce, bellusci and cooper marshaling the back line? with Byram and Warnock playing wing back roles (Taylor instead of Warnock) I'm more looking forward to seeing who gets the midfield berths
You need an extra touch to put it on your correct foot and its hard for a CB who is attacking a ball to make themselves an extra yard. Its also unnatural. I could play on the right of midfield quite well as when attacking you can cut in, but as a Right back its much harder (I'm a lefty by the way) I guess some of this translates to CBs as well. We also kept a clean sheet so maybe there wont be a change
Good morning son its about time you entered are forum I think he will play Cooper and the Italian lad personally DAD
Whilst I can't disagree with you there Bucks, the team I played in for 10 years, had myself as a right footed left back and the right back was left footed. Reasoning behind it, was that majority of players out on the wing, preferred to cut inside, thus they would then face the defender on his stronger foot. If they wanted to go down the outside, then it only required a nick with your weaker foot to put the ball into touch. Whilst there were times when it went horribly wrong, it seemed to work for the majority of games. I will however admit this was in the days when full backs defended and didn't venture forward as much as they do these days, so probably wouldn't be as effective these days as it use to be, as I woulodnt have been very good as an overlapping full back
Personally I'd play Pearce regardless, he is the closest thing we have to captain material and has been since he signed. Cooper did well enough to warrant starting again but I don't know anything about Bellusci, if he is indeed worth a start I'd pick him instead of Cooper
And I really don't think it matters, I've said a number of times, most teams play with 2 right footed centre backs and no one says anything about it. Have no idea why this is such an issue
Bellusci and Cooper will both get into the FL team of the season, which will be fantastic. I feel sorry for Pearce but he's not in the same class as those 2 so silly having him as skipper. Early days though so we'll have to watch and see what happens over the coming weeks. However we can't fook around for too long as we need to get as many points as we can as fast as we can
