With the international break this weekend (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz), City now have 2 weeks to prepare for the next game at Hull on Saturday 2nd. But, should we play a full strength side in this game, with a relegation 6-pointer coming up against Rotherham coming 3 days later? Some are no-brainers (like Wilbraham probably will not start both, and we won't risk Korey) Your thoughts gentlemen please ...........
Hull haven't won in six and in those 6 they've had a home draw against MK. We should be going there thinking we could get something.
I agree. Rotherham are in such good form and I could see us dipping out by the odd goal. Hulls form has to improve sometime, not yet hopefully
Yup, I think it's definitely worth going for a result at Hull, and I should like to think (barring potential injuries) that we should still have enough about us to give Rotherham a good game; especially after an extended break like you say. It's a bit of a crazy league, where on the day, anyone can beat anyone (perhaps with the exception of Bolton ), and right now we're in good form (3rd over the last 8 games according to http://www.soccerstats.com/latest.asp?league=england2).
Yep I agree - I'm thinking start with the same XI that beat Bolton No reason why we can't go to Hull and get something - they are under huge pressure now to get results Maybe then Kodjia could start against Rotherham?
We have to start with our strongest 11 every match, and I feel sure we will -------------O'Donnell ---Golbourne--Baker---Flint---Mathews ---Freeman---Pack---Smith---Tomlin ---------Kodija---Odemwingie If Smith is not available I would reckon on a midfield of Freeman--Pack---Reid---Tomlin An interesting experiment. The last time I tried to pick a first 11 we had a totally different line-up. This is a much more pleasurable experience, but I don't think it will be strong enough for the play-offs next season, even if we do secure everyone for a second year (which is doubtful)
Got to be honest, I think Hull are a pretty ordinary side. They certainly have decent players but there is very little flair about them. On our day (like Saturday) we can beat them...
Rotheram won't be easier than Hull!! We can't be deliberately throwing games, imagine going all the way up to hull only to see a weakened team get battered. We drew at home so there is potential to get vital points in this game. Some squad rotation could be used where fitness is an issue but we shouldn't be chucking out games. I agknowledge that we often look tired on Tuesday's but we shouldn't be sacrificing Saturday games to address this issue.
There is no such thing as "our strongest team". The team that will be picked is the one the manager thinks will do the best job against the team we are playing. Only LJ knows what this game's objectives are? My objectives would be, we need at least 2/3 points from the next two games and that includes not losing against Rotherham which is the most important of those two objectives. Who would be a head coach?
They have 2 weeks to calm down and regroup .. DANGER THAT DOES IT I shall put 2/3rds of my house on a win and a third on a draw ..for Hull ...
We're on a good run of form away from home. Fulham would have been a harder game than this and we got something, I know they're below us but it was a must win game for both sides. Hull are there for the taking but they are one of the best sides in the league without a doubt. They'll look at this fixture as a 3 points. Let's hope Flinty knocks em down and scores a 93rd minute winner.
