The profiles page on the OWS have changed, the squad numbers removed and players updated. We have 25 listed players, although 4 of those are technically youth players (Bradley, Holohan, Oxley and Cullen). There are also Bullard, McShane and Kilbane, none of which I expect to be at the club by the end of the transfer window. They are also not in order, I take it this must be some kind of preliminary retained list. But looking through, I can't help but feel we are a little light now, but if we sign the 7 players that were mentioned last month, we should be good for another promotion challenge.
That list is maintained by a 3rd party not the club so that when a player moves clubs the profile, at least in terms of stats can be put onto the new club's site immediately without the new club needing to submit all the written part. The lack of numbers just means it's been reset for the new season and things will appear as and when they're announced. You might also see bizarre loan deals appearing in it. If you imagine Clayton Donaldoson going to Yeovil, when you went on the site tomorrow you could suddenly see Clayton Donaldson on loan from us to Yeovil. I've not seen it happen with us yet, but that kind of thing has happened to other clubs in the past with long since departed players appearing back on their squad list.
