Wes makes Garth Crooks team of the week. He must have really played well.

He even got a mention by big Sam on MotD2 and he could go on for a few more years. AN certainly seems to be able to get the best out of him.

 

To be fair, Crooks has always been fair in his selections and we have regularly had players in his X1, well when we were in the Prem anyway!

 

Sky have done a similar 'Team of the week', which not only features king-of-assists Wessi
but also one Mr Virgil van Dijk .
Agree with the inclusion of both Payet and Mahrez, who were both superb in their weekend games

While watching the 2nd half I said on the MD thread that I thought it was his best performance ever for NCFC. Yes he has ripped L1 and the Championship apart at times, but I can not recall him dominate a game in the PL the way he did on Saturday. Arguably we were playing Bournemouth and not Man City or Arsenal but still...

Yeah on the stats charts, Hoolahan had the misfortune of competing with some sensational performances from Mahrez, Payet and Naismith. They all won their games for their teams.

Shows how important that number 10 role is these days!

 

Interesting too that only the WhoScored one went for Brady in defence.

I was one of the strongest critics of Brady's price of over £7m, but I have to say I should hold my hands up because he has done everything and more to justify that price tag so far.

 

I was a doubter as well, but he's certainly lived up to his price tag now. He seems humble with it as well, as this article today in the PinkUn suggests:
