Once again two city players are in the team of the week on the bbc, tha time it's Ruddy and Whittaker.

Thought ruddy made some good saves but wouldn't say he was very busy. Best keeper display was probably Alex McCarthy in my opinion.

Whittaker I agree was very good and Russ probably won't walk back not the team.

I had to chuckle reading Garth Crook's write up of Whittaker. If you look at the "Is this the worst article" thread James Middleton singles him out as a weakness.Could he be Kate's brother by any chance? Maybe Ladbrokes thought that signing on a royal hanger-on might raise their image.

If Whittaker can keep up the form of his first two games he will be an inspire signing without doubt. Very impressed so far, have to say he's surprised me by how assured he looks and how easily he's managed to slot straight in.

I hate to say this because I love the guy as you all do but I could honestly see Rusty perhaps being a weak link this year as we seem to have improved in pretty much every other area of the first team and Whittaker could be perfect to take us on to that next level - with Rusty of course being more than decent cover when he's injured.

can anyone imagine after last season that any of our defenders would make it into any team of the week? it now seems to be a regular occurrence.

Ruddy has been good this season as usual, but the Reading 'keeper was sensational this weekend, don't know how Garth missed him. I'd also say Mark Bunn played a blinder for us this week too!
