So we've played a decent number of games, who has caught your eye so far this season? Naysayers who say "it's too early" blah blah, that's precisely the point, who has found their feet quickly? ---------------------Lloris--------------------- Clyne----------Lovren-----Verthongen-----Baines ------------Flamini-----------Barry---------------- Ramsey---------------Ozil--------------------Aguero ---------------------Suarez----------------------- Honourabel mentions: Boruc, Fonte, Lallana, Townsend, Cabaye, Sturridge, Yacob, Toure To explain soem of the odd ones...Everton's defensive record with barry in the side is incredibly impressive. Suarez over Sturridge because of his strike rate. Aguero gets in on account of his 4 assists to go with his goals. Toure misses out because, despite his goals, he hasn't been as dominant as in the past. Thoughts? Any other attempts?
Yeah. Saints defensive record with Schneiderlin in the side is incredibly impressive too. Plus our player occasionally scores goals and never does OGs.
http://www.soccersouls.com/2013/11/...lsea-stars-feature-in-the-team-of-the-season/ Right on cue this emerges! Yep Secondstain, believe me it was a close call to put Schneiderlin in but this season I don't think he's quite reached the astronomical heights of last season. Still been excellent but I didn't want to completely overrun the side with Saints players!
The question could also be framed as who would you swap into the Saints team...that would be hard as it would feel like you were being asked to exchange your children.
Haha Fran, I'd be tempted to say get rid of the oldest on that basis but then you have the issue of the prodigal son which Rickie clearly is
From a statistical standpoint, Boruc has been the best goalkeeper in the league, having a shot save percentage of almost 84%. I would take Boruc over Lloris in the XI at the moment, but that could be a little bias of me wanting more Saints in the lineup
-------Boruc------- Clyne Vertongen Lovren Baines Lallana Spiderman Ramsey Toure --------Aguero Suarez---------
I'd have Mignolet in goal, saw stats from a few weeks ago which showed he had faced more shots than the en vogue sweeper/keeper Lloris. Can't really argue with Clyne, but most of my viewing has been from MOTD highlights and saints games. Everytime i've seen John O'Shea he has been really good and he got good reviews against Man City sunday. If we do that best Xl v Saints team at the end of the season i'd have Mark Noble in midfield. Wouldn't be opposed to him having a try for England. Ramsay would have to have a place and i've seen some good performances from Giroud(especially in Europe). Aguero, Rooney & Suarez always look dangerous with high work rate and Lallana has been of similar importance to us which is very pleasing
