We have had some good seasond in the past 10 years but what has been your favourite team:

Surely got to have Deeney up front with maybe Vydra or Ighalo plus Abdi in midfield maybe alongside Capoue when in form?

Room for GD out wide with FF in terms of the ability they had/have if not inconsistent.

In goal would be Gomes or Foster.

We have had so many defenders you could pick a whole squad of them but how many top quality ones?!

Even in our promotion season the back line chopped and changed a bit.

This needs some thought. It is difficult simply because some players who were very good at Championship level have not proved to be so good in the PL. Last season I would have put Doucoure in straight away, but he seems to have lost something at present. Must scratch the brain a bit. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Vydra up front with Deeney and Danny Graham. In midfield John Eustace, Jonathan Hogg, Ikechi Anya and Almen Abdi. Gabriele Angella as one defender and Lloyd Doyley !!!!! plus 2 others. Goalie would be Heurelho Gomes before Foster. Foster may be the better shot stopper but Gomes has more of a presence at the back.

    Would def put Gomes in...
    Holebas in defence

    Capoue in midfield

    Deeny and Ighalo up front

working on the rest..... quite a challenge as a number have been good for a period and then gone off the boil

    Gomes,
    Anya, Ekstrand, Cassetti, Holebas,
    Abdi, Capoue, Deloufeu,
    Deeney, Ighalo.

Probably change my mind on this later.

Thanks andy. I was trying to decide who would be my other midfield player, and couldn't make my mind up. I have plumped for Behrami.

    .................Almunia.....................
    Doyley...Prodl...Cassetti...Holebas
    Abdi...Hughes...Capoue...Deulofeu
    ...........Ighalo.......Denney..........

I have to put Nyom on the bench. I was a huge fan of his. But Lloyd encapsulates for me what a full-back is. First responsibility is defence; see them out wide, minimise threat and neutralise if you can - but at least minimise! Loved him.
Vydra was a super player in the Championship, but I think he was eclipsed by Ighalo.
I like Cathcart very much, I think he’s been a superb servant to the club. Seb Prodl was always so solid and reliable. Cassetti was an elegant CB in some respects; such a clever player. It is tricky to separate them. And of course Mariappa is a class act. I’m now not sure if I’ve got it right!
Hughes is a bloody nightmare for the opposition. You would hate to play against him. A Duracell bunny in a previous life, definitely - he just never bloody stops! He constantly intercepts opponents’ play, it’s like he has some foresight special power worthy of a Lew Grade 50minute Americanised 1960s TV programme.
Capoue has dramatically improved to become a midfield stalwart, easily claiming his place. Adbi (probably a little out of position) for his effort and finesse. Gerry D, perhaps the most skilful player I’ve seen for the Hornets.
Igahlo, I’ve explained. Always hope when he was in the team.

And Troy. Probably - after Sir Luther - the greatest Hornet since the war. Perhaps ever.
