I haven't felt this positive about City since 2008, so I thought I would research what has happened to our core team which so nearly took us to the promised land back 7 years ago:

    1. Adriano Basso
Currently unattached. Left Hull in 2013.
    2. Bradley Orr
Currently unattached. Left Blackburn Mar 2015
    6. Louis Carey
Retired? (unknown). Left Bristol City in July 2014
    4. Liam Fontaine
Currently playing for Hibs in Scotland.
    3. Jamie McAllister
Currently playing for Exeter City L2)
    8. David Noble
Currently playing for Exeter City (L2)
    25 Marvin Elliott
Currently playing for Crawley Town (L1)
    10 Nick Carle
Currently playing for Sydney FC in Oz
    11 Michael McIndoe
On a 'Career Break' (!!!) Left Coventry in 2011
    35 Dele Adebola
    Currently playing for Rushall FC
    23 Lee Trundle
Ended career in 2013. Last club: Marine FC.
    34 Darren Byfield
    Currently playing for Tamworth FC
    19 Tamas Vasko
Currently playing for Dunaujvaros in Hungary
    33 Lee Johnson
Manager of Barnsley. Last playing club: Kilmarnock, 2013.
    29 Ivan Sproule
Currently playing for Linfield, Northern Ireland
    13 Chris Weale
    Currently playing for Yeovil Town.
    And of course:
    Manager Gary Johnson
    Currently manager of Cheltenham Town.

So the highest placed player currently still 'active' in this country is Marv, with Crawley Town.

Can our current bunch even surpass the 'achievement' of this bunch of heroes? We shall see, but the signs are there!

I think they're way better and certainly more committed to the cause. Don't think we have any issue type players anymore and kudos to SC for achieving that very difficult task and bringing us stability and self worth. Well done to all at BCFC and to this site for staying realistic.

Orr and Basso are also retired by the way. Plus I wouldn't expect any of those players to be at a high level club because they are all old. Still though, a great bunch none the less and they almost got us there! A lot more talent in our current crop and lets hope they can go one better!

To be fair to Redprintt he always acknowledged LJs footballing intelligence.
It was his ability and physical presence that he said wasn't up to the mark.

Is it just me but this crop of players do feel different, they seem to have a genuine desire that the previous team never had!

I really hope we add with proper quality not just journeymen championship players like last time.

It's obvious to even the most blinkered fan that Junior was a useless player.
'Retired' at 31 is Junior's way of saying I was unemployable.
Now, I even have doubts long term whether his undoubted football nous will make him a successful manager.
As a player his size, lack of pace etc etc made even pub sides reject him.

Now managing I worry that his silly voice and 5' stature will be his undoing again.
Can you imagine a half time team talk from Joe Pasquale.

    No, I can't either.

    RODney, you are obviously pissed.

As for Tony Blair and the Labour Party I'll tell you what my Dad ( WW2 veteran) thinks.
Blair, by signing up to uncontrolled immigration from Europe did what Hitler couldn't.
