Looks like we are going for the win, thats a 4231. I would hope Granero or Faurlin comes on if we are needing a goal.

Hope Hoilett gets a run out more to be honest. Certainly wouldnt be starting Mackie over him all the time.

Hope Granero is simply still struggling with his hamstring from the first WBA match..

Hoillet over Mackie. We are crying out for some pace and someone who can threaten the goal. Mackie couldnt hit a barn door on a windy day!. For all ther hard work, its not enough.Mackie,Derry are very average and not skillful or quick enough

His effort lifts the other players, hes limited but is useful. SWP on the other hand doesnt even have 1 half decent effort in a dozen games.

I've always said this even from way back when we were promoted. Gives his all but that is literally it.

Play people based on form- SWP has been better than Mackie recently flyer! He's been one of our more decent attacking outlets. I assume they don't want to rush Hoillet back

I can't see what the fuss is about Hoilett at the moment. he has been a huge disappointment so far. Apparently he has pace. It would be nice if he used it once in a while. He is very very predictable at the moment. He always cuts inside and takes far too long to release the pass or make the cross. he never seems to attack the full back and take the ball down to the goal line. When he has overcome those flaws we may see a different player who deserves a place in the starting line up.

I never said no, i said half decent and that was the chelsea game where he was awful bar the goal. Hitting 1 good shot in 18 months doesnt mean he should be in the team.

He hasnt been good for us but hes got the potential as he proved at blackburn. Id rather see us start him for 20 games and hes do a lot more than SWP in that time.

Hoilett showed at Blackburn he can put in some top class performances as he did against us, he will produce the goods in time, Harry will see to that

    Can't agree mate.

Each new manager (Hughes, Redknapp) has started with players with higher reputations than Mackie and then he's been brought back in.

Nobody's been playing him blindly but the "better" players need to prove that their form contributes more than Mackie's effort does.

If everyone played to their potential then he'd be an impact sub but, quite simply, they don't and the starting place is rightfully his until that changes.

Thats why you always have a man in front of the keeper and why Im stunned that we never do it.
