So who would you like to see get game time tonight? Are there any particular combinations that you would like to see? I personally would like to see how Cork and Morgan get on in the middle of the park. Should be an interesting evening!
I should think it will be: Davis Butterfield Fonte Martin Harding Chamberlain Cork Hammond Lallana Lambert Guly That is of course if Lambert is fit to play, no need to risk him if not think we will see Barnard out there. We will see De Ridder hopefully think he will come on as a sub.
Field our strongest side at present. Then 60 plus mins make subs. Davies Butts Fonte Seaborne Harding Chambo Cork Schneiderlin Deridder Connolly Lambo if fit if not Guly / Barnie Nt fussed
That's unusual for a friendly but could make the game more competative rather than a roll on roll off, or 2 teams each half played. I think as a paying customer I prefer the 6 subs as makes it less disruption. Looking forward to it.
Our "strongest side" without Lallana in it?... Hmm, not sure about that one. I hope Rickie gets a run out tonight but obviously not if he is carrying an injury of some sort.
I'd like to see our strongest side play, which in my opinion is: Davis Richardson, Fonte, Martin, Dickson Chamberlain, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana Connolly, Lambert I'd also like to see De Ridder given a run out; maybe for the last 20 mins or so...
Yeah my error there. Lallana would be first on the team sheet for me. Not sure which midfielder to take out spoilt for choice. ha
WBA squad is Myhill Kiely Cech Ibanez Miller Wood Dorrans Mantom Jones Thorne Cox Fortune Downing Roofe Gayle Dawson Mattock
A man with taste. If I was being extra picky, I'd have Bart in goal to warm him up for the Leeds match haha! Guly and de Ridder as very effective subs.
I can't imagine that NA will contemplate not playing one of Hammond / Chaplow in the centre of midfield when push comes to shove in the Championship because of their experience. But intrigued to see how a young midfield would cope without an old head, or more battle hardy type in the centre. So kinda hopin' he'll continue to experiment along those lines. Who knows, one of the younguns might come over 'all grown up' It's great when a young player comes of age, and starts to dictate and boss games, rather than trying to just fit in. Stevie Williams back in the 80's was a great example. The other concern is, just how much creative flair do we have in the midfield when Lallana is out. Would be nice to see Saints demonstrate a cutting edge without him, against a Premiership team. Given that NA is still rotating and playing with different combinations, I would love to see some kind of reassurance in these two areas.
