After todays performance we should change the team a bit for the Watford game. King had a shocker today adding to giving the peno away. Abe didnt get in the game much neither did Fernandes or Danns. Matt Mills is suspended for 3 games now so the backline what has been solid for weeks will have to be changed. I thought we was crying out for someone like Lloyd Dyer today aswell to offer us some width. I think Sven missed a trick in the summer by not getting in a winger. So here is my team for Wednesday

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    Bamba
    St. Ledger
    Konchesky

    Johnson
    Wellens
    Fernandes
    Danns

    Nugent
    Beckford

    Subs

    Weale, Pantsil, King, Dyer, Vassell

I'd give Dyer another go. And would definitely drop King. Would be interesting to see if Gallagher comes straight back in when he's fit. Lots of options open to Sven, but I still don't think he knows his best XI. For me, I'd go 4-4-2, diamond or no diamond, and play:

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    St Ledger
    Bamba
    Koncheskey

    Danns
    Fernandes
    Wellens
    Dyer

    Nugent
    Beckford

Subs: Pantsil, King, Johnson, Abe, Schlupp

    ……………………….Schmeichel…………………………

    ………..St Ledger…….Bamba…….Berner……………….

    Peltier ………………..Fernades……………….Konchesky

    ……………Danns ……………….. ..Wellens………………

    …………………..Nugent………. Beckford…………………

    Schlupp
    Howard
    Johnson
    Dyer
    Pantsil

Stop passing the hell out of the ball and creating nothing, Konchesky and Peltier to should load the ball on the penalty spot from anywhere over the halfway line just like Guppy used to do, Nugent and Beckford should attack the penalty spot with Danns especially and Wellens backing up. Peltier, Knochesky, Danns and Wellens need to work hard up and down the pitch, Fernades should sit in front of back 3, Bamba deep sweeping up. Then after about an hour of bombardment of the Watford defence bring on Schlupp to really finish um off.

    Simples!

SUBS: Pantsil, Abe, King, Schlupp, Howard.

Is Gallagher fit soon? If he could get back to form he's as good a shout as anyone.

If he is then he'd be at the top of the diamond for me.

With Johnson and Wellens behind him and Fernandes behind them.

Decent ideas but I'm afraid Konchesky is a waste of time going forward. May as well put Dyer in instead.

I'm disappointed Johno hasn't broken in yet, injuries have hampered him, but he's the most talented player in the squad IMO, if he can recapture his best form he'd walk into the side.

Yeh that's how I'd have it.

We would have great strength in depth in midfield if they were all performing consistantly well, it's not happened so far with any one of them.

Konchesky is crap going forward because there is no width to help him, Peltier does get a little help from Vassel sometimes.
So forget it and go more direct like i said just like guppy used to do. He never went past his defender he just loaded the penalty spot from anywhere really.

But Konchesky can't cross either. He can deliver a free kick once in about 8 but mostly his service is poor.

I believe we were trying to hit the penalty spot a lot today but we missed by about 20 yards almost every time and it went out of play.

King doesnt deserve to be in the team at the minute. Its debatable if he is worth a place on the bench.

I would drop him completely for a few weeks. Tell him to book his ideas up and then bring him back and take it from there

I think it's harsh to drop King like that. Remember he was very good against Derby the other week. I think SSL for Mills and Beckford for Vassell are two changes I would make. The area that I feel does need looking at the most though is the midfield. I think Fernandes and Wellens should feel confident about keeping/regaining their place but the other places are anyone's guess and nobody could feel aggrieved if they were to be left out. There's an argument to keep roughly the same midfield as Sunday in that you should keep continuity and these are players who just one game previoulsy tore Derby to shreds and there is also the arguement that says these players didn't perform well enough so others should have a chance. Its going to be a tough call for Sven.

On Gallagher, I'm sure Sven/Faz said that they wanted to give him a full weeks training before considering him. If he were fit though, he might be in contention and I would definitely have him on the bench because he is naturally creative and does have the ability (when played in that hole) to unlock defences.

    Schmeichel

    Peltier
    Bamba
    St Ledger
    Konchesky

    Fernandes
    Wellens
    (Two from: )
    Abe
    King
    Danns
    Johnson
    (Possibly Gally)

    Nugent
    Beckford
