This should be interesting. Is Harry interested in the League Cup? Look out for wholesale changes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a debut for Suk-Young Yun with Jenas, SWP and Austin all starting. What do you think ....
Yes, I'm thinking that Harry is either going to use it as a selection panel for finalising his first team for regular football AND OR ........ he will start all the new players and secondary / discard players
I would not be surprised to see those all start Looks like Taarabt and Mbia are two of the ones who do not want to be part of the squad so sooner they furk off the better
Should be used as an opportunity to get other squad members match fit. I would expect all the subs from today get a run out with some of the fringe players in the squad. sooner we get rid of the excess players who will not be part of the future of the club the better. It can't be great for morale. August can be an unsettling month and the more points on the board the better.
I'd have thought that Suk-Young Yun and Dunne would start at the back, Austin must start up top, as you say Jenas makes sense, probably along side Derry. I'd also like to see Harriman, Sutherland and even Ehmer get a match; we've got to start getting them ready.
If Mbia is included, I'm surprised. He looked eager in the second half of the Southend game, and ran to the bench after scoring. But I don't know where he was yesterday...perhaps with Diakite who seems to have left Planet Earth
Yep, agree. Wholesale changes. If we get strength in depth by September, we may be able to put out a creditable B team for the FA cup
I'm assuming this is a very cheap game to go to. I really don't want another Warnock Rochdale fiasco. Mind you with our squad there will always be big names on show and I would like the youngsters to get a chance. Suk Young will definitely be in, Traore is bound to have picked up an injury tying his laces or something yesterday.
I agree with Sooper. Lets see the fringe players and some youngsters. We don't need injuries from these games. Playing our strongest side v Huddersfield is paramount.
Youth players and substitutes seems to be the answer and they'll be no excuses if they lose. With a team including Austin and Dunne it's not a game we should be losing.
I think we need to use this to give playing time to the ones not involved yesterday ideally. But including Austin is crucial. Give him time to adjust and understand how some of the others play.
Big changes, we need to start the new guys and other players who didn't play. I'd also start one or two kids. We will see if players like granero or Mbia have a future. They will leave if not included.
I disagree. If we can use these matches to help our younger players to gain experience and to keep the non-playing squad members fit we should embrace it.
Austin a must start from now - I hope to God anyway. Would like to see the youth team lads get a game but I also wonder whether it wouldn't help to keep at least a bit of a nucleus from the first game (rather than 11 changes) to get the team gelling.
