To be honest, I'd only use Simpson as a backup for one of the back three now and a backup for Isla, purely because he was not born to be a wing back. I like him and he's worked so hard for us but if we're going to adopt this new tactic for the long time then he doesn't really suit it. He's not a cb and he's not a wing back. He can do an ok job in either role but ok is not what we need this season.
