Forgot we had a football match and all that, so let's have some formation porn. Saylor to wear a mask, Tiote and Best doubts, and Shola and Williamson still both definitely out.

    Krul
    Simpson Taylor Colo Raylor
    Guthrie Cabaye
    Marveaux Benny Jonas
    Ba

No point playing some stupid system with 3 CBs to stop them, you cant beat Stoke at their own game. We conceded 4 goals on Santon's debut, so I'm not convinced he should start yet, unless someone at the game can convince me otherwise? I also think Marveaux will be ineffective on the right, but Obertan needs to be dropped on current form.

    Thoughts?

I think Ameobi should bring out the mask just for this match, they would look like superheroes... it is halloween after all!

Anyway I'd probably agree, but Santon has to start sooner or later.

I think Tiote will make it. Other than Best (who will be replaced by Marv, Ben Arfa or maybe Lover) it'll be the same as v Wigan.

Virtually identical to yours but I'd really like to see Santon get a run out so I'd go with:

    Krul
    Santon Taylor Colo Raylor
    Guthrie Cabaye
    Marveaux HBA Jonas
    Ba

Was anyone here at the Blackburn game? I'd love to hear how Santon played, hard to tell from the highlights.

Yeah I get the impression Tiote will undergo a late fitness test and decide to play. Forgot about Lover, he might actually start <yikes>

If Tiote doesn't make it, that'll be just about right Smudger.

Genuinely think that after Obertan's decent performance when he came on on Wednesday, and the fact that Stoke are slow and we need pace, we should start him. But if he plays ****, swap him for Marv asap. Ben Arfa has to start as well, he can go on some storming runs a la Shane Ferguson last season :D

Thought you went to all the games.

He showed some decent pace and got up the flank and can put a decent cross in.

    My personal one(without Tiote) :

    Krul
    Santon Saylor Colo Raylor
    Cabaye Guthrie
    Obertan Marvo Guti
    Ba

*I want to save Ben Arfa for the Everton game.. we could see the return of ''him'', the match were it all started haha how ironic.

Not a bad idea. I'd like to see Marveaux play a game in the hole, to see what he's like there, and I certainly dont want to see Ben Arfa play rugby.

The wonderful thing about that front 3 of midfielders is I feel they could be employed to, and have the ability to, switch, interchange and play any of those 3 positions to hopefully be successful in completely bamboozling the defence

If Tiote and Best don't recover in time bring in Guthrie and Lovenkrands. Ben Arfa has already shown us he isn't back to his best and he is player very cautious so I wouldn't risk against these thugs otherwise he will get another broken leg. We shouldn't change our tactics we should just keep playing the 4-4-2 which is working. We shouldn't adapt our style to try and stop stoke we should just play how we have played all season and we will win. If we put 5 in midfield, someone in the hole, 3 centre backs etc we will get beat. If we revert to hoofball to try and match them we will get beat.

Same team as went up against Wigan, except bring in Santon for Simpson.

We cannot make rash and risky decisions that won't actually help much; we need height at set pieces, i.e. Ba and Best need to both play, which means Marv and Benny will probably have to settle for the bench again unless Pardew's finally fed up of Obertan.

I wouldnt play Obertan for his height, his marking is shocking, look at Blackburn's winning goal again, totally loses his man.

Talking to one of my mates housemates yesterday who's also a Toon fan and he was saying he thought Obertan was a great buy and has been impressive so far <doh> What a tit.

He then stuffed me on fifa but I was fuuuuuucked and the players were melting into the pitch, god knows what I was saying back to him. Hope I didn't say anything about Cabaye being the sexiest player

    Marv Tiote Cabaye Jonas
    Ba Ameobi

We need our wingers to help with our fullbacks and a strong presence up front. I reckon Ameobi will do good vs Stoke and score.
