With last night's result going against us (making it even more vital we try to get a win from this game) what team and formation would you play? Hopefully Jacobson will be fit but will we stick with 3-5-2 (though some said it was 3-4-3) or do we revert to 4-4-2?. I hope we play two up front and at least have a tilt at it because I do not think we are good enough defensively to try and nick a 1-0 result. Will Atajic be fit enough to play any part or do we pair Eaves and Storey upfront? There are certainly more questions than answers in our current predicament but I would start with the following line-up (assuming Summerfield is fit) Anyon, Woods, Goldson, Grandison, Jacobson, Fyvie, Summerfield, Parry, Mendez-Laing, Eaves, Storey.
Go for it Town - I think things must be about to turn for us and I predict a 2-1 victory. Finally, shame on Notts County for the massive price difference between tickets for away and home fans and I hope we reciprocate when they next come to the Meadow.
 
Nice opening post. I read somewhere that Vale were not prepared for us having our formation last Saturday, we thought it was 3-4-2-1 btw.

I do hope we could play with a consistent front pairing but I suppose we need them scoring too. HopefullyAtajic is now moderately fitter than when he first joined us as he looked good. Amazed that someone in Celtics reserves could be unfit compared to someone from a championship or league one clubs reserves.

Would love to be going but having a day in Chester with my wife, always like Nottingham as spent three years there doing ny engineering degree.

Cheer up - you never know in football( though my head tells me you are correct, my heart says we will get something at County tomorrow). Will you be going?
 
A win a county can cheer everyone up. Still remember the tight game we had there a while back when they had Rodgers and Hughes up front and although I think we lost we could have won by several!! Same old shrews!!
 
No not going. In fact no more away trips planned this season. It is bad enough watching them play at home without spending exhorbitant amounts of money on away trips (Notts County FC please note)
 
I'd go with it being a 3-2-2-1-2. Parry seemed to be floating off NML and Storey. Hybrid between 5-3-2 and 3-4-3, depends where wingbacks are classed.

My team would probably be quite similar, I didn't think we were too bad. Personally, I'd bring in Atajic as I felt he looked class, and haven't really been impressed by NML or Storey so far (albeit just 1 game for the latter and 1 and a bit for the former).
 
Nice to see town got a win, shame we conceded two goals so early on again. Mills, Goldson and Mkandawire all seemed to cause mistakes.
Glad Taylor got two and just as importantly eaves gave him two assists.

The real shame was that teams around us also won, especially crawley and crewe.
 
An exciting game on the worst pitch I have ever seen in this league (they need to keep the rugby players off it!). It was groundhog day for the first fifteen minutes with two dreadful mistakes from Mkandawire (though I must say it looked another dubious penalty decision against us) giving them a two goal lead. A really good team passing move with a clever assist from Eaves got us back into it and, against their ponderous defence, we were creating more opportunities than in the last four games put together. Fortunately the ref was equally awful for both sides and the sending off (no one around me had seen anything untoward) certainly changed the balance of the game on a leg-sapping quagmire of a pitch. The first part of the second half was a bit worrying with the ten men of County dominating possession but after Taylor's beautiful strike for the second (surely our goal of the season so far) there was only going to be one winner.
It is still a massive ask for us to get out of the relegation zone but at least Jacko is on the board with a win and we can go to Sixfields with slightly more optimism though I think a point in that match would be a decent result. Man of the Match has to be Taylor but I would give honourable mention to Asa Hall who was influential in midfield all game.
 
Let's start with the pitch.....they had the sprinklers on before the match and at half time.....IDIOTS. They ruined one of their best chances when the guy just fell over due to the pitch!!
Eaves and Taylor got better as the game went on......heretical suggestion: play Taylor slightly closer to the middle and Eaves slightly wider with any old loanee up front! They can swap sides as they seem at home on either wing!
We had no midfield for long periods of the match and I think Hall's honourable mention, whilst partly justified, was for when he came from far too deep and wide (isn't that what wide defenders should do?).
P*SS*D O*F with pricing, as we all were, but as a pseudo-oldie it was still better than driving all the way to Salop for about the same price. Bring on more of the away games within an hour of Derby.
Talking to a few locals I think they were more worried about their position than the way they lost.....but ain't that how we all feel!!
Finally, Ryan Woods (made only one inconsequential mistake late on) looked our most enthusiastic player for most of the match and whilst clearly not a right back must surely be found a place where we can use his guile; some of his passes were great, both under pressure and not.
