Just to clear this up. In 4-3-3 Lallana plays right wing and Davis plays on the right of the midfield three. In 4-2-3-1 Lallana plays behind the striker and Davis plays on the right. Go on whoscored and look at the match reports. It will have an average player positions chart for each game if you don't believe me.

I'm a massive Clyne fan but if there's one team I'd leave him out for it's Stoke. Combining the factors that the weakest part of his game is defending the far post (Besides not wearing long enough studs), Stoke mostly playing strikers out wide who all have height advantages over him, Arnautovic having a massive one at that, and that Stoke's biggest threat comes from balls into the box, it is just asking for trouble I feel.
I thought you were making things clear..?![]()
. Generally Lallana gives away the formation. He's everywhere behind the striker in 4-2-3-1 but sticks mainly on the right in 4-3-315:00 Southampton v Stoke :- Referee :- Craig Pawson : Assistants - S Ledger & P Bankes : 4th Official - D Whitestone

Fortunately neither Gaston or Fox will be around to be sent off this time. 15:00 Southampton v Stoke :- Referee :- Craig Pawson : Assistants - S Ledger & P Bankes : 4th Official - D Whitestone

I like that plan FLT.

I would play Cork to start and then when we are two nil up with 30 minutes to go, give big Vic another half hour game time, but swap him for Davis. This would then be the ideal option to see if the three who cause all the selection headaches could play together.

Just to add, I find Saints playing formation very fluid indeed. When you look at heat maps for individual players, especially the front 4, they are all over the place. Adam seems to go everywhere.
I bet they're a right bugger to mark.
Assuming you aren't purely being sarcastic, I meant Davis is the right central midfielder. Lallana is on the right of the front three in 4-3-3. I realise I come across as overly serious in this post, I don't mean to . Generally Lallana gives away the formation.
