I think due to the occassion, Bruce might suprise a few people with selection this weekend. --------------------MIG-------------------- O'SHEA--FERDINAND--BROWN-----BARDSLEY LARSON--CATTERMOLE--COLBACK-RICHARDSON ------------------SES----------------------- -----------------GYAN----------------------
what no gardner? for years we have waited for a midfielder that can score, and now no games... he has to play him.
The opening line-up at the top of this link is close, however, I'd swap Rico with Sess, and replace Colback with Gardner. Colback has done nothing wrong, it's just that we need a lot of experience in the middle !
-------------Krul----------------- Simpson - S Taylor - Colo - R Taylor Barton - Cabaye - Tiote - Jonas -----------Obertan------------- -----------Ameobi----------------- That team has the quality to beat yours imo. - Apart from left back, a strong defence, with S Taylor and Colo having superb matches against the gunners. - A very strong midfield with the likes of Barton, Cabaye and Tiote, with Jonas' ability to track back and defend coming in very useful. - Obertan's blistering pace and Ameobi's derby super target-man abilities - a great partnership of big and strong with fast and great technique. Tough game for both sides, but we DO have the ability to win it. Certainly not ruling us out.
Chappaz you've made my day with that team selection im actually looking forward to the derby now - whats happened to this marveaux fella? And what about Ba? Any way not the point More importantly our team I think he'll go for the same except O'Shea for Ricco and Bardo reverting to LB. Mig O'Shea - Brown - Anton - Bardo Elmo - Colback - Catts - Larsson Sess - Gyan However, I think we will be seeing both Gardner and Ji at some point - maybe even Vaughan depending on how the games going
I think the full backs for Newcastle are vulnerable, so Ideally I would like to see some pace in our flanks. The likes of Richardson, Sessegnon and Elmo could cause problems. Obertan in a free role behind the front man. Don't make me laugh. Cattermole won't even need to turn up...
Marveaux has just got back to full fitness. He might play a part actually. He scored 1 and set up 2 in our reserve game against Gateshead yesterday. Ba might play, but on derby days, Ameobi is by far the most threatening striker we have and you know it. I'd only ever want him in this game. Obertan was pretty bloody good against Arsenal. He has blistering pace, good technique and has always spoken of wanting to take on the striker role. Don't underestimate the guy.

To be honest Chapaz your team looks strong in midfield, but I think your strikers will be what let you down. I see a very close game with not many goals, us to nick it 1-0. I think midfield will be a tight battle but we have more than enough at the back against your front 2 and little more going forward with Sess and Gyan against your back 4. BUT its not going to be an easy game for either side. I think Bruce will go: mig bardo...brown...anton...richardson elmo...catts...colback...larssen sess gyan I would go mig bardo...brown...anton...Oshea larssen...catts...gardener...richardson sess gyan
I rekon ---------------- Mignolet --------------- Bardsley - Ferdinand - Brown - Richardson ------ Cattermole ------ Colback -------- Elmohamady --- Sessegnon ------ Larsson ------------------ Gyan ----------------- subs Bramble, O'Shea, Westwood, Vaughan, Gardner, Wickham, Ji
So with the 9 new players (havn't inc elmo) it seems like only Brown and Larsson may seem to be in the line up. O'Shea is injured, so we have aquired numbers, not any real quality to improve the team? Seems to be this way, if most of the new lads are either on the bench or not at all. Persist in the players that won how many games since Jan? and for the derby.
In any other game I'd agree, but you know how Ameobi is on derby day. He'll be giving 150%. Against Arsenal Obertan was a very different player than he was at Man Utd. His pace alone will cause havoc for the likes of Brown. He also has the agility and technique to be a perfect partner for Ameobi when it comes to setting him up. As I said, people would be fools to underestimate him. You never know though, it might be someone else. Vuckic or Marveaux are both very threatening too. If Pards doesn't go with what I've said, I'm hoping he brings on Obertan, Marveaux and Ferguson after half time. Three of our fastest and nippiest players to cause some serious problems for a tired Sunderland defence. Rapid pace is one weapon we didn't have at all last season, even during the 5-1. I honestly think that with older players like Brown, and no new quality additions to your defence, you will be less equipped to handle some serious pace compared to last season, so I'd watch out for them.
Why don't you take your inane ramblings and f*ck right off you obsessed poxy mag c*nt. Nobody give a flying f*ck what you think, or what the CRAA team will be. Why don't you go and discuss with yourself on the scum board. Lol Bart
