After the disappointing result at Barnsley, it is excellent that we have a home game in only a couple of days. Despite the defeat, I do not expect JFH to make any radical changes with the objective of returning to "business as usual". However, there will be a need for a "minor readjustment" due to Hall's suspension. This should be easily solved by Ned's return to centre back and the recall of Perch to right back. However, I am not sure who will be on the bench as a reserve centre back - let's hope that there will be no "incidents" with Onuoha or Caulker during the match! I also hope to see El Khayati and Shodipo make positive appearances as impact subs. --------------------Smithies-------------------- -Perch ---Onuoha ---Caulker---Bidwell-- ---------------Henry -----Luongo------------- -- Cousins -------Chery------Ngabakoko-- ------------ ---------Polter-------------------- It will be interesting what JFH will do and let's hope that we quickly return to winning ways. COYR's!!!!
Well I can't see us ever winning or even drawing without him so fingers and toes crossed. Bit annoying there's no Furlong given Onuoha will be in the middle now.
Won't Lynch be fit by Saturday? If he is a straight replacement for Hall would avoid changes at 2 places in the back 4.
I read about 2 weeks somewhere about a week back. Edit. West London Sport 15 August, looks like he'lli miss Preston. Confirmed unavailable on the Official.
One of issues for this season could be our strength in depth. We already see problems with an injury to Lynch and a suspension to Hall. We will soon see Luongo do a world tour with Australia for the international break and who knows in what condition he will return. Unfortunately, it is also very likely that key players like Chery and Polter will have an small injuries during the season. As a result, it is key to get Ariel on board and performing, plus to give real game time experience to the fringe and younger players. The team selection for the Rochdale match could be quite interesting.
I'm guessing Garner is a big loss. Is Beckford still around? Can't say I ever rated him so he'll probably score a hat-trick.
Not too fussed re Garner don't think he has got what it takes at this level, Beckford is OK but missed most of last season injured still playing catch up

True. But I hope that tomorrow we show our hospitality by the repeated playing our our Pigpag anthem.
Sky Sports News HQ understands that Joe Garner's move from Preston to Rangers has been completed, with the striker signing a three-year deal. EDIT: Sorry just noticed this has been mentioned. :-(
If Lynch is fit that's my team. Otherwise, Onuoha at CB with Perch at RB. The rest I'd keep the same.
Far be it from me to sing the praises of Karlos Henry but people don't seem to be including him in their preferred team when it sounds like Cousins wasn't great at Barnsley, albeit out of position.
I think Cousins should play in the middle, and it sounds like Henry had a poor game there against Barnsley.
