OK lets move on from yesterdays disappointment and look forward to what should be a great game on Saturday. Hopefully the knocks that Dejan and Jrod picked up were only minor and both will be available. So defence and attack almost picks itself. Big question mark for me is in midfield. Thought we were outbattled in the second half yesterday and JWP struggled at times. If Morgan is not fit then I'd give Reed a start alongside Jack against the Geordies. I'd also start with Gaston ahead of Davis. Boruc Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Reed Ramirez Lallana Jrod Rickie Subs Gazza Clyne Maya JWP Davis McQueen Gallagher Thoughts?
Whats up with Wanyama? Is this a real injury or one of Saints famous "he's not really injured, he's had a falling out with the manager" injuries.
Didn't they say he "aggravated his earlier injury", which was a broken leg. Not sure if that is possible or not.
Mauricio doesn't seem to shy from making decisions...if he wanted to bench Wanyama that is what he would do. If he says he is injured then I believe him.
Why drop Lovren? It has already been stated he passed a last min fitness test. So I doubt he was actually ready to play really.
I'm looking forward to this game, never been to St Mary's so always good to visit a new ground. We'll almost certainly sit deep and look to break on you using the pace of Gouffran and Sissoko. Good news for you is that Remy looks set to miss out which is a big loss for us. Heart says it'll finish 1-1 but head says you'll nick it 2-1. Hopefully we beat Everton at home tomorrow night so that we have a 4 point cushion going in to this game, think we'll probably draw at best tomorrow though.
His last game he was very poor. He wasn't that good against Norwich or Palace either. Manager should always make it clear that no player is above being dropped if they are not delivering.
Pochettino doesn't seem to rate Hooiveld and Yoshida at all. Even a half fit Lovren plays instead of them.
Think Beef has it right. We will strengthen in the summer but Jos and Maya obviously arent considered good enough.
The key for me is getting the most out of Lambert - either start Rodriguez or Gallagher up front and bring him on as a super sub, or replace him after an hour if he starts, I don't think he's up to 90 minutes currently.
Yeah, that's right. Quite worrying really as it was a hairline fracture [can't remember where in the legs] and it is obviously giving him proper pain. What's even more worrying is that it isn't healing very fast.
