With this game sandwiched between our tough outing at spurs on the weekend and a difficult away game to Chelsea next weekend do you think we will play our starting team against Galatasaray or will we see some rotation? I think the back 5 picks itself and will be our strongest available due to current injuries. The midfield I'm expecting flamini and wilshere but will wenger want to play jack in both games? With Ramsey and Arteta out will we see diaby in one of the games? And up top I think Welbeck will play both games centrally. I'm expecting Sanchez and ozil to play both games but possibly come off early against Galatasaray if we are winning. But I'm unsure who will take the other wide spot. Maybe podolski will play against Galatasaray, but probably one of Cazorla or oxo. My team: -------------Szcz----------- Chambers--mert--kosc--Gibbs --------flamini--wilshere------ Sanchez------ozil-----oxocube -------------Welbeck--------- With diaby, Cazorla and podolski coming off the bench to get some game time. Wilshere coming off to avoid injury after 60 mins too. And then against Chelsea: ---------------Szcz----------- Chambers--mert--Kosc--Gibbs ---------diaby----wilshere------ Sanchez------ozil-------Cazorla ------------Welbeck----------- With oxocube coming off the bench to give us some pace on the counter later in the game. This gives us some power in midfield and also players who can keep possession (which will be good in an away game to Chelsea). What teams do you think we should play? And what teams do you think we will play?
We definitely need Diaby to play against Chelsea don't we? (God I can't believe we're relying on him 1 game into his current comeback) A midfield with Wilshere and Ozil in looks very lightweight. I like the team against Gala but not sure we've got enough to cope with Chelsea
Chelsea is the priority for us but we don't have much wiggle room in the defensive department which is a worry. Gala is a tough and rough side away from home so we'll have to be careful of not sustaining injuries at the back. I'd play Diaby in the Gala game instead of Chelsea, as its too early for him to play at that level. Wilshere won't last for two consecutive games and I think we can play the Pod for the Gala game, to rest OXO for the Chelsea game. So against Gala i would play: -------------Szcz----------- Chambers--mert--kosc--Gibbs --------Diaby--Cazorla------ Sanchez------ozil-------Pod -------------Welbeck--------- and against Chelsea our full strength squad: -------------Szcz----------- Chambers--mert--kosc--Gibbs --------Flamini--Wilshere------ Sanchez------ozil-------OXO -------------Welbeck---------
Diaby is not in the squad for tomorrow night (http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20140930/team-news-jack-theo-ramsey-arteta), so he won't play. That does open up the possibility of him playing against Chelsea. I think it's only fitness that is an issue with him. Wilshere is in the squad, but it sounds like he is 50/50 to play. This opens up the possibility of Flamini partnering Chamberlain in CM. Both have bags on energy, and Oxo has the pace to get forward and make a difference, and track back when needed. This would probably line us up like this: -------------Szcz----------- Chambers--mert--kosc--Gibbs --------Flamini--Oxo--------- Sanchez------ozil-------Cazorla -------------Welbeck--------- But I also wouldn't be surprised to see Rosicky or Pod start tomorrow. Ozil, Welbeck and Oxo played 90 mins on Saturday, and could well be rested. I don't think Oxo will, but either of the other 2 could (I hope not). If Wilshere is deemed match fit, we could also see us line up in the 4-1-4-1 of this season: ---------------Szcz------------- Chambers--Mert--Kosc--Gibbs --------------Flamini------------ Sanchez--Oxo--Wilshere--Ozil --------------Welbeck-----------
