OK loads of debate overnight and today about the merits of Dani, Jrod and even some criticism of Victor, come on we are 5th you know people! Anyway looking forward not back who would you start with against Fulham. Will MP go for an unchanged side or bring Rickie back in and drop Jrod to the bench. I would start with Rickie and personally even though Davis has been doing well I'd play JWP for his dead ball delivery. My team Boruc Clyne Lovren Jose Shaw Morgan Victor JWP Rickie Adam Dani Subs KD, Chambers, Maya, Davis, Cork, Jrod and Guly Thoughts?
I too would like to see JWP play from the start and think next weeks game would be ideal. His delivery and work rate should see him start and get better balls into the box for our two strikers
I know JWP is talented but to be on the bench and play at the same time is too much even for him isn't it?
Same 11 but Rodriguez on the bench - he can take JWP's place! On another note, Ramirez wasn't in the 18 again and has Guly ahead of him in the pecking order (yes, I did just say that!). Surely he's off in January, anyone else excited because surely that's going to add a lot to our transfer kitty providing someone gives us an eight figure/high seven figure offer for him.
He only arrived back from World Cup duty on Friday. It would have been pretty mad to include him this weekend,
Exactly the same team, though I'd perhaps start with Lambert and bring on Rodriguez later. But perhaps I'd leave it unchanged. Poch is the expert, not me, and I have great faith in his ability to choose the right personnel. Having watched the whole 90 minutes against ManU twice, I can't honestly ask any more of any player, knowing their particular limitations. Osvaldo, I would suggest is going to get better, but one has to play him to do so. Besides, he's already more effective than JRod, as a lead striker. My one nagging worry has been the strength in depth of the squad, but yesterday, when I saw players like Guly come on, later in the game, and absolutely slot right in, and play really well, I'm beginning to think they've all stepped up and I needn't be concerned. Players don't get to the bench by being poorer than the starting 11. They get there by being currently better than the rest.
I'll go with MP's obvious thinking and keep JWP on the bench. He's only a young lad, so I think they are trying to protect him from full games and the injury risk he'd suffer. Luke's much more sturdy and there's frankly no replacement for him, so they start him. I do like seeing JWP come on as our dead-ball play is excellent with him on the pitch. Start with Lambert, get a 2-0 scoreline under our belt by half time and then bring on Jay Rod. Vin
J Rod is so valuable in the last 25 minutes as he shores up midfield and acts as a goal threat, great player to have on the bench. I agree that JWP should start but at the expense of Davis who has been fantastic and Lambert starting in place of JRod. The other 9 places pick themselves with Ramirez coming in for Guly on the bench
-----------Boruc Clyne-Fonte-Lovren-Shaw -----Wanyama-Schneiderlin- -Lallana----------------S.Davis- -----------Lambert -----------Osvaldo Bench: K.Davis, Chambers, Hooiveld, Cork, JWP, Guly, Rodriguez
I would start with Rodriguez from the start as he would offer us a bigger attacking threat against a team we should beat. -----------Boruc Clyne-Fonte-Lovren-Shaw -----Wanyama-Schneiderlin- -Lallana----------------Rodriguez- -----------Lambert -----------Osvaldo Bench: K.Davis, Chambers, Hooiveld, Cork, JWP, Guly, S.Davis
Tactical. We've got no injuries. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php
Thought you watched it, Lamb..? In my opinion, it was half and half. Fellaini had already gone off and therefore Wanyama's job had essentially been done. With Do Prado, Saints acquired a bit more creativity, and let's face it, we scored. I think Wanyama was in a bit of pain, but he's a brave lad. I don't think for a moment that it'll keep him out.
I think it's going to be another one to add to our growing experience in trying to break down a counter-attacking/bus parking team.
