Great result last night and brilliant to keep the momentum and confidence going! So who do we play against Everton on Monday? Rickie has to start but do we play Gaston or try to keep it tight?
Fair point FLT. Amazing the difference a few results makes though! A few games a go there would have been howl;s ofg derision on here if Rickie had been left out and only on the bench!
No ones suggesting we actually pick the team. Just that it might be interesting to see our opinions what exactly can we talk about on a football forum??
Why not bring Lambert on in a similar manner as he did last night? Everton will be going all out to win at StMary's, similar tactics using lambert as an impact?
I agree Lamb. I think we might see the same sort of gameplan as last night away at Man U, but every home game we will be trying to win from the start.
Rickie and Gaston in for Guly and Davis for me. Rodriguez has done more than enough recently to deserve a run in the starting line up.
Win this and I really believe we are staying up. I'm less worried about what team we pick and more worried about what I can wear to keep myself alive for 90 minutes!
Yes agree J-Rod deserves starts and needs to be scoring regularly. I take it lallana's not back. I turned down a ticket for this match as have to fly to manc for training the next day. Wonder if I can find a pub to watch it in....
If we are going to get a result we need to shackle Baines. Cut out his runs and crosses into Fellaini and we are half way there!
Cut out everything to Fellaini and we're half way there. Hard task though, he gave us serious issues at Goodison.
Indeed! Hasn't been quite as effective in Everton's last couple of games since his ban for those 'incidents' against Stoke, hopefully that will continue against us before he rekindles his form to give a few of our rivals a good rollicking. I always thought he was a very handy defensive-mid, one of the better ones but not quite a top one, but as an attacking player he is just a bulldozer, he's so strong that if you get within a yard of him he's going to completely dominate you, but he's good enough technically that if you give him room he will hurt you. Very tough to legislate for but hopefully Nigel has something up his sleeve to negate him, or even better as you say hopefully he's just a bit rubbish on the night!
I liked the look of last night's side, but I do think that as we are at home, we need to be expansive from the start. Everton have had a longer break, so they'll be fit, but slower out of the traps than us, so an early goal would be useful. --------------------Boruc Clyne-----Yoshida-----Hooiveld-----Shaw -----------Morgan-----Cork -----------------Ramirez Puncheon---------------------------Guly ----------------Rodriguez K.Davis, Lambert, Forren(?), JWP, S.Davis, Chaplow, Lee Bringing Lambert on in a game is something that works so well, I think we shoulld do it more often.
