There's only one way we'll get a result and thats if everyone works their bollox off and we hit them on the break. Their midfield is too strong so we have to sacrifice a striker and play 5 in the middle. For me id go something like; (if fit) .............................Westwood.............................. Celustka........Oshea..........Brown........Bardsley .................Larsson.....Ki...Colback..................... Johnson.............................................Giaccherini .............................Fletcher..................................
The positives, yesterday, were Brown coming back and Mannone playing well. Dossena can go home, Cattermole is a liability we can't afford and Seb is half a player. The difficulty is that with Cattermole gone we can't drop Colback into the left back spot so, as you say, it's Bardsley as the best of a few bad options. Colback will have to become the new Cattermole but without the brain defect and the sole ambition of becoming a 'hero' at Sunderland in the mould of Kevin Ball.
As is often the case people can go a bit over the top with praise and criticism in football. I think there was a massive positive yesterday in keeping the game to 1-0 when you were two men down for half the game, it could easily have been 3 or 4 nil if your players had let their heads drop. Poyet must have been able to instil a collective belief/pride at half time. I actually wasn't impressed with the team he selected against us (players he put in and players he left out) but got the result in a tight game so people overlook it. I'm not convinced he knows your best players or how to utilise them but his tactics have looked good so far, his substitutions are either well judged or lucky (and everyone needs a touch of the latter) and keep up the effort from yesterday afternoon and against us and you will be fine. Pretty sure you can't write Catts off, we had similar issues with Tiote at times but when players like that have a good run of form they dominate games.
Already have mate, how can he have a run of form when he never has a run of games? He cost us yesterday and will now be missing again. We've had enough disruption without losing a player, in the first half, for a pointless challenge. If it's not sendings off it's injuries he picks up because he's never in control of himself.
