Maybe.........just maybe we will take the game to them and give it a go? Mignolet Gardener, JOS, Bramble, Rose Cattermole (if fit) Johnson, N'Diaye, Sessegnon Graham, Fletcher Subs:Westwood, Mangane, Colback, Larsson, Vaughan, McClean, Wickham
I'm almost shocked at myself for saying this, especially after my views on his performance earlier this season, I'd agree with your line-up, going with 2 up, but I'd swop Sess for McClean....
..............................Mig............................. Gardner..... JOS..............Mangane....Rose ...............NDiaye...............Catts............... ........................Sessegnon....................... Johnson..............................Fletcher......... ..........................Graham.......................... Let Rose overlap giving width so Fletcher can go inside. Its not a ridgid formation but keeps everyone in their natural positions. It also lets the full backs create the width much like Arsenal Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea do. It gives Flecher the chance to come a little deeper influence the game a bit more playing off Graham. It means Sess gets more involved in the middle of the park and he should have an out let with Johnson and Fletcvh coming short and Graham going long. Catts will sit and NDiaye will go box to box. Catts sitting invites our full backs to get forward. Its our best players in their best positions. Mangane is an unknown but he can't be worse than our other options at the back.
Please please please Martin play 2 up front!! Fletcher. Graham Johnson. Sessegnon. N'Diaye. Larrson Rose. Bramble. O'Shea. Gardner Mignolet
For this game, I think we should be playing 5 in midfield and looking to grab a 0-0 or maybe snatch a goal on the break. If we play just 2 central midfielders, Cazorla and Wilshere will have a field day, especially the form Wilshere is in at the moment.
Time to give mangane a go. That aside, we can all continue dreaming for 2 up front and some attacking initiative. Please let catts be fit.
If Catts is fit then I think we can manage with him and N'Diaye in there - if not then we need 2 in front of the back 4 (Yes I do think Catts is that important) So for me: Mig Gardner - JOS - Mangane - Rose -----------------Catts----------------- -------------N'Diaye----------------- Johnson---------------Sessegnon --------------Fletcher--------------- --------------Graham--------------- I would play Fletcher tight behind Graham but then he gives us the option to drop deeper if he needs to - Arsenal are very shaky at the back and we should really be trying to get at them
I remember last year we played them twice in 2 weeks. first game we narrowly lost 1-2 although we did everything right playing 4-5-1 narrowing the centre on the pitch and then McLean grabbed a goal but a fluke strike and Henry scored the winner late on. The week later we won 2-0 I think? Correct me if I'm wrong playing a bit more attacking, either way I would rather go down fighting than we did against Reading.
yeh thats worth a try we will have colback on the bench with bramble and seb together with mac and wicham backed up by vaughan and that should be ok

I would love to see ----------------------------Mig--------------------------- Gardner------------JOS---------Mangane---------Rose AJ------------------Alfie----------Catts------------Sess --------------------DG------------Fletch----------------- But sadly it will be the team Parkersafc said .................mignolet................... Right heres my team for the weekend. Our midfield is sh*te so lets go, Mig Gards JOS Mangane Rose Catts N'diaye Sess Graham Fletch Wickham 4-2-1-3. Get 3 big men upfront and bombard them West Ham style. We are probably expected to lose so ffs lets try summit different.
No idea what the team is going to be but we might try a novel aproach and get the lads wearing the red and white striped shirts to try and pass to someone else wearing the same sort of shirt rather than to a bloke wearing a different colour - you never know it might just catch on...
Disagree. If we sit back and try to soak up their pressure then they WILL rip us a new arsehole. If we turn the tables and put pressure on their soft back 4, then their midfield are neutralised somewhat. Cazorla isnt a tackler and Wiltshire is made of glass. Let him tackle Catts or Alfie and see how he fares. Instead of allowing teams to dictate the play we must start to impose ourselves on the opposition. Its why Reids teams were so successful because they attacked from the first second. Fletcher will revel in that kind of team imo.
Hey Gil, thats not a bad idea. What i am trying to say is we have to try something other than simply just hanging on for points in games? Thats why we lose games imo.
