Malky: "Whitts is still a Cardiff City player and is very important to us. He's a player we want to build around here"

Thats the kind of news I like, can go missing, but can be devastating with a slick pass or a free kick.

If we aspire to play in the top tier, Whitts is one of the few players at the club who would do well at that level. Whether he can be instrumental in actually getting us there with his sometimes "invisible" performances is another matter.

Having said that, I would much rather have him playing for us than against us - he can be devastating on his day going forward even if his defensive capabilities can be questioned.

Malky needs to get gritty players around him to let him do his work. His statement tends to suggest that's just what he's going to do.

More good news coming from the club and the new man at the helm. Dont want to get carried away but the way things have turned out these last few weeks, feeling like we could be in for a legendary year

since when was he leaving? any talk of that was obviously pure speculation by sub standard journos <ok>

Well worth keeping just for the sublime diagonal balls and great free kicks and I don't think he would want to leave personally. He's had a pretty good time here. He tries pretty hard... most of the time :)
