Malky: "Whitts is still a Cardiff City player and is very important to us. He's a player we want to build around here" @MAcMcAuliffe Twitter
Thats the kind of news I like, can go missing, but can be devastating with a slick pass or a free kick.
Out of all last years "so called" stars Whitts was most probably my favourite to stay. MM rates him highly by the looks of it.
If we aspire to play in the top tier, Whitts is one of the few players at the club who would do well at that level. Whether he can be instrumental in actually getting us there with his sometimes "invisible" performances is another matter. Having said that, I would much rather have him playing for us than against us - he can be devastating on his day going forward even if his defensive capabilities can be questioned. Malky needs to get gritty players around him to let him do his work. His statement tends to suggest that's just what he's going to do.
“We’ll keep working on strengthening the squad,” said Mackay. “The fact that we are away in Spain next week won’t stop that. I will be on the phone every day and working to get more players into this football club as quickly as we can.” Read More http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...ts-malky-mackay-91466-29014097/#ixzz1RRPZYf4F
More good news coming from the club and the new man at the helm. Dont want to get carried away but the way things have turned out these last few weeks, feeling like we could be in for a legendary year Bluebirds
But if he literally builds around him won't we be a bit exposed with all 10 players over on the left side of the park? sorry I promise to try and be serious later! KTF
Well worth keeping just for the sublime diagonal balls and great free kicks and I don't think he would want to leave personally. He's had a pretty good time here. He tries pretty hard... most of the time
