Homeless Pete reported to have died from a stroke last night One of Swansea's most well-known homeless people, Tea Cosy Pete, is reported to have died. It is thought he was rushed to Morriston Hospital last night, after suffering a stroke. One report on social media says he had a minor stroke yesterday morning and was taken to Morriston Hospital's A&E. He was released apparently two hours later but at 2:20 this morning, he suffered another stroke while sleeping in Castle Square. Peter, also known by the name Teabag, hit the headlines back in the 1990s after walking to Kittle in Gower to return a bag containing £7,000 to its owner. When the owner offered him a reward, it's said he smiled and said " my reward is returning it" and just walked back to town. Tributes have been paid on social media. Geraint Thomas said: "He's said to have been brought into a loving, well-off and educated family. There's so many rumours as to how he ended up living for decades on the streets of Swansea." Jude Twinberrow said: "So so sad, but what an Icon he was, shame more people were not like him, in the way that he did things xx." Andrew Thomas: "We should all pull together and have a minute silence on the day of his funeral." Tony Gallivan: "Absolutely gutted. What a lovely guy. Pam said the last time she saw him he was looking frail and saying how cold it was and you never really heared him complain about the cold. You missed out on knowing someone truly lovely here RIP Pete xxx." Someone has a"mild Stroke " and is then released from hospital the same day !!!
