There is a half hour period tomorrow where a small fortune will be spent as lots 32-34 go through the ring. The horses concerned are all unbeaten Irish point to pointers Moonman Bach De Clermont Shrewd Tactics My preference would be for Shrewd Tactics but I just wondered if any of you Irish boys had a handle on who might actually be the best of this exciting trio and fetch the highest price?
Moonman will make the highest price. He's also the most likely type on paper to make a nice chaser down the line for me. Bach De Clermont is another French bred that could be very useful hurdling possibly. Shrewd Tactics I'm unsure about so you may well be right. My question is what one are you buying?
Just watched their P2P wins again stick, Bach De Clermont looked superb and ran a cracker of a time ( 15 seconds quicker than the average for that day) Mick Griffin currently handles Moonman, he didn't break sweat to win his race either. Griffin had Rocky Creek through his hands recently too. Can't view the Shrewd Tactics race atm that's why I'm in the dark.
Have you bought that one stick? Seems to have disappeared from the catalogue. Bach De Clermont looks interesting though.
Haven't seen the races but I see Bach De Clermont got a "very impressive rating of 92+" and he's only a 4yo. Also has Northern Dancer and Affirmed on the sire side. No idea about the dam side.
Or to put it another way. If i had just spent £170k on a horse and would be looking to spend about £20k a year on training fees, there's not a chance it would be looked after by that man.
The Rucker family bought her Bob, they throw most of their purchases at Evan recently. Those famous blue and pink silks. Out of Interest, who would you choose to train one were you to aquire a decent one?
and don't say Mullins, he's ****ing FULL. Seriously, I would send a horse of mine to Neil Mulholland - very impressed by his ability to get the best out of a horse. Did a great job with Midnight Chase and now looks to have a proper horse with Shantou Village. Plus he is a very nice bloke I reckon.
I'd send mine to Olly Stevens if he were to make the transition to the jumps game. Man can turn water into wine so imagine what he could do with a good horse.
I do quite like Mulholland but have it in my head he's better at the moment at revitalising horses he's pinched from other stables for pennies and I would be praying £170k got me more than disappointment and broken dreams.
Totally depends what type of horse is it. Ie honeyball for bumpers maybe greatex or even longsdon for hurdlers not sure about a chaser. Others on the list would be Skelton and Pauling. Good Dr obviously if you never bet. If you had a serious weapon that would compete in Saturday races then Nichols obviously with the condition STD doesn't ride!
Seriously guys! You just paid £170K for a piece of NH bloodstock. You want it to win its bumper, win over hurdles and make up into a class chaser. There really is only one combination to hand your pride and joy over to..............Hobbs & Johnson all day....every day!...........Longsdon hahahahahahaha decent trainer don but never going to make it to the top table....Brother in law Pauling however, I see he bought a 70K store there yesterday he is already outbuying the rest of the family and is going places!
Moonman made £30,000 by the way. I think he's going to Gordon Elliot. Shrewd Tactics was WD. Lofty price Bach De Clermont went for. Looking at his p2p win he does look an exciting type who could well repay the price back someday.
If I had the horse, I'd send him to Gordon Elliott, hardly original, but he's won some amount of top races on both sides of the pond in a relatively short space of time. Can't think of many who've won what he has in such a short space of time in fact. The fact Gigginstown send plenty to him too, is indicative of the regard they have for him and there no ones fools
