    Two more Swansea City greats have signed up to play in Alan Tate’s testimonial.

    Tate’s Swans Legends side will take on a Manchester United Legends XI on Wednesday, August 9 (7pm).

    And the Swans line-up will feature two of the attacking stars of Tate’s time at the club, Lee Trundle and Andy Robinson.

    Trundle will bring goalscoring prowess as well as his trademark box of tricks to the Swans frontline.

    Never rated tate much as a player very average but was kept on for a long time here somehow !

    Why anyone would want to put a distasteful comment on here after all this time is unnecessary and spiteful.... Tate would always give 100% and the defenders we have now should look at his example on how to put your body on the line and fight for the club. He knows he was never the best defender in football but he was the best trier and as many have said many times.." Give me a team full of Tate's every time" He is a legend at the club....

    Nothing to do with the Club , it's the players responsibility to organise any testimonial, that aside a decent bloke who integrated himself into the local community and has no airs about him , what you see is what you get . On the pitch always gave his all and regardless his limitations I was gutted that his chance playing in the PL was restricted because of golf <whistle>

    Tate did his job to the best of his ability and picked up his pay here as nobody else higher up the leagues wanted him !
    The main thing i remember about watching tate play for us many many times was thinking every time he played ffs dont pass it to him !!!

    All i have seen on other sites is nothing but praise for the legend but not you ....look in the mirror. This is about a well deserved testimonial and not how good or how bad he was.....

    The word is RESPECT, Dai. Something you are sadly lacking in.

    You dismiss Laudrup because he doesn't seem to fit your skewed viewpoint, but that does does not preclude others from regarding him as one.

    Respect for the twat <laugh> The same man that tried to swindle the club for 2 million quid and lost....Yes man give him respect for taking us close to relegation if it was not for Monk turning things around..<laugh> Glad he went off the radar never to return...<ok>

    If he were to invest as much time in learning English as he does disparaging, foul mouthing, insulting, lying about, and libelling Michael Laudrup, perhaps he would be better understood. I won't hold my breath, however. <laugh>

    I just don't get the point of testimonials at all now. I think years ago it was to do with players getting a final payday, no it is charities I suppose. I just cant watch the football it is just not for me. I am sure there will be a good turn out though. I liked Tatey very limited as a player, but he was one of those players fans loved.
