I remember us being interested in him. Well he was part of a defence that drew against Man Utd yesterday, and many Burnley fans on forums rated him 9/10 and joint MOTM.

He's in a burnley side that's gonna get relegated due to their lack of goal threat, but is staying in it due to their ability to defend their way to draws.

I'd definitely look at him in the summer.

Imagine if we can get Tarkowski and Caros?

I'm kinda hoping that Burn turns into that for us once he gets match time. Then Burn & Botman next season. May be wishful thinking as he's a Newcastle lad though

No ****ing way should we hope Burn turns into that. We could be getting rid of pretty much every old CB we have in the summer, including Schar after last night.

We should be more ambitious than that.

    Next season back 4:

    Bring in Botman and Tarkowski.
    Sign Targett permanent.
Burn is versatile, so could support either CD or LB.

I see where you're coming from, however we still need to keep a certain number of homegrown players in the squad and Burn is coming into peak years as a defender. If he can develop to a top quality CB then I don't see a rush to replace is all I'm saying. Having Tarkowski as well would be a nice selection dilemma though

Tarkowski is a no from me, as Botman seems certain to sign. Milan don't have our financial clout. I think we may have a good chance of getting Sule as well if we keep going. That'll take care of CB, as Schar, Clark and Fede will all leave.

I think Sule has agreed to join Dortmund so that's a no go unfortunately

I think they will just mess us around again, regardless of the money. They will price him out of what even our owners will see as fair value. Just my assumption, hopefully proven wrong in the summer.

Don't we wanna aim younger? If we stay up we need to think about long term players. Look at Kompany at City who they bought when he was 22.

Tarkowski is 29 and 30 this year, I think we need to get some more youth in the defence.

We can get Tarkowski, Botman AND younger players. You need a full squad with a mix of experience and young talent.
None of Schar (especially based on last night), Dummett, Fernandez (unless he can be injury free), Clark or Lascelles are good enough to take the club forward.
So IF we do stay up, then in the summer we need a proper clear out and about 4 new CBs.

    RB - Trippier, Manquillo
    RCB - Botman, Carlos
    LCB - Sule, Dunk
    LB - Targett, Dummett

Would do me fine next season! All current CB's need replacing.

If you are looking at younger CB's the players I'd really go after would actually be Fofana (21 - 6'3 Leicester ), Nicola Milenkovic (24 - 6'5 Serbian beast from Fiorentina) or Kounde (23 - Sevilla's other CB) but he is only 5'10 so a bit short for a CB in the EPL but smashing it at Sevilla. Honestly think Fofana and Kounde will be WC or Euro champs with France in 2-5 years as starting CB pairing.

Signed for Dortmund. To be honest I've watched his last few games he's played for Bayern, I'd have some concerns about him. Pretty slow and clumsy.

I don't mind Tarkowski but I think we might be seeing something more like Carlo and Botman now. If we stay up its a different ball game. Players will want to come here, they aren't daft. The fact Carlos and Botman wanted to in this window is crazy but very revealing about the chat on the continent about where our club is heading. They want in early.

As Sule is off the table would anyone go for Rudiger from Chelsea - on a free?

Yeah I was wondering about him and Christensen. Both top end centre backs. I imagine they are being lined up for bigger moves than us, but have you seen Christensen's record when he starts? They hardly ever concede!

I'd love to see Christensen here, but yes like you I think both him and Rudiger will be heading off to CL teams

Like I said, why not get Tarkowski for his Prem experience AND the likes of Botman & Carlos (if they will sell him)? We need a squad overhaul IF we stay up and nowadays that requires 4-5 CBs in the squad. Best to have some solid Prem experience and some talent from overseas. It will only be the first phase of the project, so we also need to be solid and build up, rather than going completely gung-ho straight away.
