Next year, what would you say is our target for next year so: target for if Ashley is still here target if we get took over For me, if Ashley is here, if we can emulate Southampton I’ll be happy, top top team with great players If we get took over I’d be happy with 8/9th. (Southampton though)
I couldn't give a **** about the club if we aren't taken over tbh. Just not bothered. If we are taken over, top ten is the target.
100% same as me mate. I’ll have zero interest, sick of this boring “employ all the old dinosaur managers” regime, added to the fat **** Ashley. Im actually laughing at the list of managers we’ve had: Joe Kinnear Steve Bruce Alan Pardew Steve McLaren John Carver I mean Jesus Christ man, I wouldn’t wish that lot on my worst enemy.
If Ashley is here I really don’t care. Lots of random different names may come in or go but the same result as we compete not to go down. A season of ****e and lies and bullshit. Completely losing interest in football right now.
How can anyone say what are targets will be. We still don't know who will own us or manage us so pure speculation.
Target under Ashley is safety. Target under PIF is progress and infrastructure development. Target under another new owner is dependent on who/what they are. Wow when you think about it being a NUFC fan right now is like a box of chocolates.
I'm going to say it. This season hasn't been great but when i think of other seasons we've had and football we've watched I actually think the current team is possibly the best we've had since when Pardew led us a merry dance with some classy players. Keeper is solid, defence is decent and going forward we have a fast front line who genuine create chances and baffle the opposition and themselves. We vary a lot but we generally aren't bad to watch - compared to previous seasons. I see young players with some mid-table ability, they are almost certainly improving. I don't get all this doom and gloom and kind of wish the take-over hadn't been a possibility. If you just take the season and team and compare it with others over the past decade it's been one of our best - i know that's not saying much - but I'd suggest there's been improvement. Hell we have spent £70-80m on the front three players in the last 18 months... I think we'll spend net £30m ballpark most seasons in the transfer market and float around 10-15th. It's not ambitious but i don't think we're going to be fighting relegation in the main.
If the aim is 17th, there will ALWAYS come a time when you fail and the price of that failure is relegation.
