Just thought this would be an interesting time to do a straw poll and find out what everyone thinks we should be aiming for and what we can achieve.

We need to catch up 14 points in less than half a season to make the play offs - never in a million years! So for me we have to be looking to finish top half and we should be starting to put a side together that can really challenge for 2013-14. So far we have just Cresswell and Hyam.

I said at the start of this season we would have a difficult start(although I didn't think this bad) and then pick up toward the end of the season put a decent run together and finish just outside the playoffs.

I still think this is possible, but the way things have gone I would be content at staying in the league this year!!

I've said all season that all I want is to finish in the top half and not be lookiing over our shoulder at relegation. Well, we are looking over our shoulder so that wish has gone but I still hope we can finish in the top half.

Have you been on the old jungle juice bud?

As for targets, to keep a clean sheet would be a good start!!

I'm afraid that is probably the best we can hope for, thats not being pesimistic just realistic. I just honestly cant see us attracting the necessary players to get us out of this ****ing deep hole!!

My only hope is that the teams below us remain worse than us. I'm not confident of us picking up points so will probably be following their results more closely than our own, sad isn't it.

Genuine question chaps from someone who has been there and got the t-shirt. Would you prefer to:

    1. Finish 21st, retaining NPC status, but risk having lower expectations for next season and only minimal change throughout the club (players, manager, coaching staff etc.) or
    2. Go down to League 1, rebuild and come back fighting in 2013/2014

As a Norwich fan I obviously think 2 is the better option, but coming straight back up doesn't always happen. My opinion is that the risk is worth it and that you may as well be rebuilding the core of your club for the long term rather than short-term flailing around mid-table in the NPC.

I think going down would be very bad for us!! I think if we can get this season out of the way with the future for us won't be that bad but certainly this season is a worry!!

Retaining championship status is always better, having the lower expectations is what the club needs, in an odd sort of way im hoping that we just scrape survival because a late season resurgence will only put the expectations sky-high again. But, targets are game by game, keep the line up we have as first choice, giving carson more of a look in and just keep them playing together, and with any luck the results will come. They are individual errors, i struggle to pin blame too much on the coaches for sending out a line-up capable of keeping the goalie from having a save to make untill half way through the second half. A good clean sheet and a win will boost the defensive confidence no end

Our targets should be every professional defender in the football league as they are all better than what we have. Given the desperate situation we are in the fact that we have only reportedly bid for two Portsmouth defenders is a joke and with only 8 days left in the transfer window I'm starting to panic at the thought of Smith and Sonko for the rest of the season!

With no games until Tues next week Jewell can't give the usual excuse of not having time. GET A MOVE ON!

Exactly, I'm even thinking is Bam Bam available and I thought he was a poor defender but I would actually have him in the team over any of our CB's atm.

Like sven says, it's amazing that we have only heard about three bids for players when it is plainly obvious we are in desperate need of reinforcements. We could be bidding for everyone on the damn transfer list, at least you know they are available. We must have the worst scouts in the football league.
