I think the players heads may be in Brazil already, but hopefully we are up for the Newcastle game as there are some targets left. Chavs goal target of 103 - hope we can better it, chavs and goals doesn't make sense. Shearer/Ronaldo goal target of 31 - Suarez has now matched this and can hopefully get the 38 game season record for himself.
Winning the league is still a target... Just need our former players or the mighty Villa to do us a favour
How any player's head could possibly be in Brazil when you still have a chance of winning the f****** league is beyond me. Have British football fans not learnt anything? NOTHING is certain in this league. Teams can and do upset title contenders. QPR almost did it 2 years ago, who is to say West Ham (or Villa) wont go one step further this year. One thing I will say, if \west Ham do you a favour and you don't capitalise because there are players who's heads are in Brazil those players need shipping off to the north pole where they can do no more damage to humankind. Your club have been a credit to the league this year whatever happens - haters will just hate. Whoever wins it, be it you or City, will deserve it. Every club has made this league what it is!
Yeah... we can still win the title... highly unlikely- but odd things have happened this season- such as Palace doing an Istanbul on us. I'm calling on the spirit of my Aston Villa legend namesake to win the match against City for us! I'm glad at very least it will come down to the final game. When was the last time we were mathematically alive on the last day of the season? Realistically though the season is over... so I want Suarez to get that goal record outright... not share it with marmite and the hair-dresser. 5 goals will take us clear as the highest ever scoring club. I think at very least, we deserve that. 5-goal sunday for us please!
I believe our manager and players decided that everton was the only game where city could drop points and were chasing at 3-0 up. i think that's a ridiculous place to go when anything can happen.... and yes villa and west ham should lose 9/10 times. by all means have a nice last day, try to win well and enjoy but you know 2 city draws... it'd be a shocking end
I think it was a noble goal to try and win by goal difference. At 3-0 up- it was worth chasing that impossible dream. However, once Palace hit that first reply you could tell the tide had changed. At that point we should have changed focus... we were down to a +2GD with 20 mins left and Palace were in ascendency. It was at that moment we should have become more defensive. Palace's 2nd goal came... Moses, who never tracks back and almost never makes a tackle was brought on for Sturridge [who despite being a forward, actually helps out in defense, retrieving the ball and hassling the opposition a great deal]. Why?!?!? I could understand another defender... I think a midfielder was needed to ensure we kept possession- but an attacking winger with no defensive capability- what was the point?
