For those who have been on another planet for the past four days: 1. Tan threatened to sack Malky if he did not resign. 2. Some people sang a song in Liverpool. 3. Tan decided not to sack Malky - yet. Extra information: Point 2 above has no causal connection to point 3 whatsoever (i.e. don't become deluded - I wish we were important, but we're just not!). There is a football game on Boxing Day. Seems quite simple really - but so many words and radio time taken up.
Other an a press release from Lim, He has been very quiet. Could be he realises how much a figure of ridicule he has become.
I had an email from him, but I refused to resign as a mod because I knew he couldn't sack me..........
Tan holds all the cards. The only statement from Tan is this "I will do what is best for Cardiff City" We can come on here and complain about the negative football but Tan has told Malky he wants this to change but Malky is certain his way is the right way. Play the side we put out in the second half against Liverpool which is what the fans want and Tan wants or put out the first half side which is what Malky wants. The cause of the trouble is Malky making everything public and playing negative football. I really like Malky he is right for us but please don`t let him become as stubborn as Jones. jck
Spark! I was going to suggest you look for support from the Liverpool mods but it seems this article is gone all serious.
'The cause of the trouble is Malky making everything public and playing negative football.' Are you going to keep talking out of your arse forever?
1. What right has this numpty who has no experience of football got to tell the manager that got his club promoted what to do? 2. Malky's way is correct, as the 5 point gap suggests.
God help you if you think that Malky is to blame. Tan and his bullyboy ways are to blame here. Malky wanted a meeting with Tan both yesterday and today, and Tan refused. Only one person to blame here.
The wording was he "declined" actually, not refused a meeting. This could be down to prior arrangements elsewhere, and a meeting is to take place this weekend we are led to believe. We haven't heard from Tan, so exactly what has happened isn't clear. Tan hasn't shown any sympathy towards the fans so I am not expecting great things when he does speak, but it isn't fair to distort things however slightly, especially when it's not your club.
Either way we looked at it, he didn't agree to meet with Malky either yesterday or today. Given what has gone on the past week in public, surely this should have been top of Tan's priorities, especially if he could re arrange his schedule for an emergency meeting in London prior to the Liverpool game last Friday.
I think that's a fair assessment to be honest Grad. I also think there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than Tan worrying about his Christmas dinner - people are being talked to. There will be a viable and ready made alternative to Malky to take the helm by the New Year window should this "meeting" go the wrong way.
I don't know if it could or should have been Tans top priority, I am not privy to his business or personal life to that degree, there might have been more pressing matters that could have only have been done during a certain window. Thats the problem, we don't have all the facts, and without out we can only make assumptions.
There is a downside to all this. Owners will not want to appoint someone with Malky`s attitude after all this. Owners make the decisions at every club and many have done things the fans don`t like but those owners are still there. Slate off your owner in public then bang on his door demanding a meeting when it suits you then come back and tell me what happened. I said I give up after the chairman saved his job and he went straight onto sky causing even more trouble in public. The chairman now has to come out and issue another statement retracting the one that said Malky would remain the manager and said if the situation with Malky cannot be resolved they will act quickly to appoint a new manager. Malky cannot win this battle with the owner. Tan can wait and see the next two results before making a decision, Malky is desperate to get backing before the next two games. Two good wins now will make everyone happy while two losses will on please those who are here to cause trouble. jck
I'm sorry but the only attitude that Malky has shown is that he won't be a puppet to a man who is clueless in the understanding of football. So are you implying that you wNt a yes man to manage Cardiff in the future with Tan in charge of tactics, transfers and game plans etc?
Of course he will and already has, as his stock and respect from others in the game has increased ten fold. Should he be sacked tomorrow (hypothesis) I would bet my life on the fact he'd be back in a job by the end of the first week of January.
Tan feels 4 wins from 17 is not good enough considering the investment in new players and also sees we are not attacking very much...football is about attacking, scoring goals and winning games it is a simple game. A monkey could understand football, you kick a ball into the back of the other sides net. Anyone with a university degree in football has wasted their time and money if they cannot understand that one underlying fact. Tan is watching the games and mostly it is depressing him as much as me and a lot of others and that should be the only talking point. jck
