Found these on another site but credited ‘forever blue’
It does make you think that they are all in it for themselves and absolutely nobody else :headbang:

Absolutely. Tan in particular has no feel for the game and what little interest he once had has evaporated. No doubt people will expect non questioned gratitude but I think it's all about the real estate for him. Of course, him continuing to dip into his pocket to keep us afloat is in no small part due to his own poor business decisions.
If he had any regard for the club he'd sell up.

Agreed Clingo but he can only sell to a willing buyer at an agreed price. To expect him to take a loss of tens of millions is unrealistic.

However he runs the risk of losing the lot if things outside of his control happen.

I guess he is pining a lot on getting a big settlement from Nantes which would allow him to accept a lower amount to sell. That is a big risk but unless Branson, Sugar or some other mega rich person wants into a UK football club those are the only realistic circumstances for him to get out.

It’s a quandary. Tan has financially propped the club up for years. Without his investment where would the club have been? Would another ‘white knight’ have come to the rescue?

But his presence and IMO his ill judged reliance on Dalman (who’s leeching money out of the club) and Choo (what does he really do?) is holding the club back; seriously holding the club back.

This past season somehow City avoided a relegation scrap which they should have been in but for a series of late escapes. Without an unlikely fullish season from Ramsey coupled with a major squad enhancement and a more positive style of football we can’t expect much from next season.

It’s perplexing why Tan just won’t use his obviously astute business acumen to seek a buyer or as implied from other message boards, engage with potential buyers to finally bow out and let others take on the club.

Ps is this the right thread for this; probably justifies a separate one?

I'm not sure Tan has any business acumen. From what I've read about the man he's made his millions on the basis of knowing politicians in Malaysia. Outside of there,he doesn't seem to do so well when not surrounded by influential people. His purchasing the new new training facilities while knowing full well that he couldn't staff it, rings further alarm bells with me.
Agree on the thread thing. Perhaps better off on the Bulut thread or a new one.

Whilst I fully recognise VT does himself no favours with his stubbornness and inability to let go enough to trust others who know more than him, I'm also always slightly wary of messages, threads and articles from certain other sources because it always appears that some people have their own agendas that maybe 'cloud' their judgement if i can put it politely.

Plus there have been numerous false reports emanate from those 'in the know ' on the same boards.... It was only a few months back that Erol had quit according to their sources at the club...

I'd be taking the news that there was a solid, interested party with a very big pinch of salt.

I can't see anyone touching us with the proverbial barge pole until all the legal battles are resolved.

Fully agree that there are mischievous people at play on other boards. Also agree that we're probably not the most attractive of clubs for potential owners. My concern is with Tan himself and what I see as the detrimental effect he's having on our club.

Given this thread, thought I'd trawl back to when Walesonline had some decent journalists like Terry Phillips - here's a piece from him on owner history at the time.

Gawd what a variable lot we've seen at the club this past 50 years. I can remember them all and was grateful at the time. They all had their motives and to be fair kept us going, and the same can be said of Vince - just wonder how long before the next one comes in to "save the club".

    Interesting reading from Mr. Phillips................

Interesting reading and a chequered history.
Like it or not, Tan has a certain longevity.

The board are all sitting pretty and ‘saving’ our club whilst another Langston situation develops
If the writer (assume Annis) is partly right, then these loans will never be paid off

For someone who cannot run the club all the bills are paid and over £300 million invested so owing £100 is pretty good . Tan has also seen us promoted to the premier twice not bad for someone who knows nothing. Would think every other club is happy with their owners? teams get relegated each year but never us, not bad for someone who does not know how to run a club. I think Annis is thinking Hamaan could buy the club he tried to place in administration saying he only represented the company but Tan forced him to admit in court it was his company, not bad for someone who can`t run anything. Malky embezzled money and again Tan caught him out so he had to leave with no compensation, not bad for someone who knows nothing. Poch tonight was told on sky a proportion of the fans wanted Spurs to lose to city, he asked what proportion and as no one knew he said lets try and answer the question no one knows the answer to shall we, 50%, 20%, 10% or 1%, That last statement is like on these forums a handful pretending to speak for over 20,000 fans. The majority who support and appreciate Tan don`t come on with good reason, they do not go drinking with the likes of Hamaan and Bullit. I was happy playing in red for £100million but was never given a choice along with over 20,000 others. It is clear those on the forum have ulterior motives instead of concentrating on the actual games and whether we have seen entertainment. Phillips said it all that unlike Liverpool who play a pressing game we mix it up at Cardiff sometimes we press and other times we let the other side have the ball...excuse me "let the other side have the ball???" and that my friends is why we have seen the worst football ever. The board the owners are not anything we should feel we should have control of simply by paying a ticket to watch a game, you don`t have to buy a ticket but if you do it is to watch a football match not tell the owner what to do..

All this talk is great but does anyone really have a clue as to VT should sell to and for how much?

Does anyone really think he will walk away taking a loss of tens of millions - or more?

I don't know what the solution is but, for me, it does not involve VT walking away and/or selling the club for a fraction of what is owed to him. Don't forget he has about £90m in shares - as well as the loans, anything up to £100m.

Plus there is the money owed to Dalman and associates, anything up to £30m.

Obviously the soft and smellies would really hit the Xpelair if VT or Dalman decided they wanted their loans back. Clearly the club don't have the funds so we possibly go into another Hammam/Langstone situation again.

Not in anyone's interest but the club is not an attractive proposition to any buyer with the amount of debt involved and the need to fund ongoing cash flow although there is probably £30/40m plus in the bank on the back of ST sales to date.

I don't have any idea as to how this will unravel but the above are the facts as I see them.

As a postscript I read jck's earlier post. I recall thinking some points made some sense but by the time I had finished reading I couldn't remember what the points were. <doh>

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word 'forum'... Just to enlighten you I'll quote from the Oxford dictionary, 'Forum- A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged'. 'We hope these pages can act as a forum for debate'
So in a nutshell the original poster isn't speaking on behalf of over 20k fans but putting his views (or rumours) out there for open discussion.
If you don't like or disagree with a particular subject you can object, debunk, criticize, stamp your feet or simply close your laptop.
As we found with the covid cure we must never blindly be led by the experts or leaders but we MUST question everything or simply be one of the sheep and follow the herd and maybe be savaged by wolves

I agree with the above sentiments but in my mind the board are lending themselves money and paying themselves back at a very favorable rate, surely the legality of these kind of traps must be questioned ?.
Another question would be, is VT selling us to the asian market? I never see the shirt sales in Malasia or Vietnam etc and I certainly never see Asian match tourists visiting the ground like a lot of other clubs
Tan wants the Welsh to 'Visit Malaysia' but I doubt he advertises us in his homeland
