That was as bad as any game NP oversaw at the KC and to be honest if it was ANY other manager the team would have booed off this aft.

Some around us in the east stand were saying we were too tired. Sorry I don't buy into excuses. The bench was devoid of goals or anyone to change the game. Where the **** is Abebola?

Barmby needs to sort it out fast! Three losses on the trot is NOT good enough, sort it out or get a manager in who can.

    End of rant

Fair enough that, Barmby's got to be big enough to take the rough with the smooth.

I agree that barmby has to take the blame for todays defeat. He had no plan b whatsoever. It was painfully obvious all throughout the first half that our system wasnt working but he didnt change it at all. To only make two substitutions today was absolutely criminal. Our most attacking player on the bench was richard garcia and he didnt even get brought on! We cant keep relying on koren to score a 25 yarder every game!

Or get in a manager who can.... jesus you lost your credibility there. And Adebola is the answer? really.....

We where poor though, we couldn't break down yet another poor side but we did look laboured and shattered, which isn't good enough really.

Today was flat, dry, boring and most of all absolute crap.

Everybody looked off today including Derby.

They had no chances other than that REALLY sloppy goal that Basso should have saved. I can't even remember a clear cut chance from either side, worst game for months. I'm a massive Mclean fan but we looked twice the team when he went off for Brady (and I don't even rate Brady) Mclean shouldn't start the next league game IMO. I'm not making him a scapegoat because the whole team was ****. Stewart also put more effort in when Brady came on.

it was the poorest performance under barmby, but it had to happen sooner or later..wasnt going to pass teams off the park every week.
while i admire his refusal to go long ball, i do feel we need to find some kind of plan b tho, the subs were almost like for like and didnt change much, dont think brady is the answer to be fair

We were poor today, but we did still pass them off the park, they were ****e.

They were time wasting from minute one, they had a player almost continually rolling around on the floor, they were a piss poor excuse for a football team and we still couldn't bloody score. <doh>

Can't turn on Barmby yet my God.

You may remember, I wasn't especially ecstatic when he was named, but I understand he needs to be given a chance.

That chance, for me, is the transfer window. There's not much wrong, just a bit of freshening up and allowing ourselves the opportunity to change the way we play at times. For example, what I wouldn't give for a winger to cross it into the box and a striker to nod it home. Just doesn't happen with this team, and it would be nice if we could engineer a move for someone where this might be something we can add to our armour.

Some players may need a rest too.

More options in my book, and the window is the time to get 'em.

Opportunity missed against a poor Derby side, thought they marked Fryatt, Koren and Stewart iut of the game pretty well. Stewart's one good bit of movement gave us a free kick on the edge of the box and Matty kept working hard all game imo despite being well marked. The worst game at the KC for a while, but Nick will learn from this and there was bound to be ups and downs. Everyone has a blip at some point, this could well be ours. Definetly need some new additions but we showed before Christmas we were good enough to be in the top 6, we just needto get back to that sharpish.

Bringing Brady on added nothing. Just had both Brady and Stewart playing out wide on the right and getting in each others way.
Unfortunately we had no one on the bench who could change things. Lack of plan B.
Still we move on, but need another goalkeeper and striker, having no goalkeeper or striker on the bench makes this plainly obvious.

We were poor but still had the best chances. Our paper thin squad has cost us big time over the xmas period. Can only blame flat top for that, can't blame Barmby. We are crying out for strikers. Fryatt is good, but he isn't going to be good every game. Clearly we should have signed at least one more striker in the last transfer window.

Also, teams have worked out where our threat comes from and we have no plan b in they nullify it. So more players that can create chances needed also.

I do think we still had scope to rotate the squad a little in these games. Dudgeon for Dawson (permanently please), perhaps Brady for Stewart and maybe Garcia for Mclean.

And eleven corners today with no goals. This stat if well beyond a joke now!

Lets see what we do in this transfer window to fix this and then we can start to better judge Barmby.

Is there anywhere to find out how many corners without a goal it is for us now?

Well Barmby hasn't taken the job as manager yet has he ?

We didn't play well but did create chances

I don't think Derby are a good team but they stuck to their gameplan today and got men behind the ball

Imagine how frustrated Barmby is still been a player himself and having to watch us fail to score again

Until we sign a first class keeper these results will keep happening.

He's absolutely right about Adebola. The last two games have been crying out for him but NB's obsession with piling the bench with defenders he isn't going to use means there's no room for him.

We can only pass it about for so long, but teams know exactly how to stop us. All they have to do is keep men back and leave a man over on whichever side the play isn't on (nullifying the Stewart threat). It's so ****ing easy for them and it's bloody obvious from the stands. Every so often we knock a hopeful ball forward and Fryatt loses out againt 4 defenders, which is hardly surprising. If we had a big man there would be a chance to knock it up quickly and have possession high up the pitch instead of just on the halfway line with their entire team in front of us. Playing the way we do with only one midget striker means any half-decent, disciplined side can stop us completely.

To be good enough to be in the top 6 you have to finish your chances, we didn't and that is a big problem that has to be fixed, and fixed fast. That is a problem we have had all season not just over Christmas. We dominated the last three games and lost all three.

The result was **** all to do with the keeper it was to do with our strikers not being able to hit a barn door. Not just in yesterdays game but in the last three. If we had finished even half our chances we would of won the matches comfortably. Todays goal was more to do with our fullbacks falling over than the keeper, and which silly bastard asked for the ground watering at half time.
