Heard he wants out of the Tractor Boys. We need someone who can put the ball in the net. Were fine getting it their but Hendos dropping too deep in search of the ball. We need a greedy, selfish striker who jus stands up front and scores. Loan to perm on the cards as the emergency windows still open?

    Thoughts?

I agree that Priskin would be worth a try because I can't see any of our current strikers reaching double figures this season. Unfortunately, KJ seems to have a blind spot where strikers are concerned. Apart from Morison, KJ has never signed a profilic goal scorer since he has been at Millwall. Alexander and Harris were already here before he took over as Manager. We have had Savage,Kandol, Akinfenwa,McLeod, Gifton-Williams,Andrew,Lisbie,Grabban,Grimes and probably a few others I havn't named. The only one of them who at least scored a few goals was Kandol. He paid £550,000 for McQuoid and unless he rapidly improves he is yet another forward signing who hasn't worked out. One (Morison) out of a dozen is a very poor success rate . Yet in defence and midfield KJ has made few bad signings. Duffy and Friend come to mind but he has unearthed gems like Abdou,Trotter,Mkandawire, Henry to name a few. There have been many striker available during his time here who would have fitted the bill but KJ does not seem to have been interested in any of them. Le Fondre was the latest to escape the net and I have come to the conclusion that he is just not forward thinking in which case we are in for a long hard season.RANT OVER!!

Erm I have a Reading mate who says we're lucky not to have wasted our money on Le Fondre

Lets hope this stays as the case <ok>

Millwall_Adam- I think your Reading mate is a bit premature in making his judgement of Le Fondre based on one game he has played for them. Look at how many games Morison played before he started to score goals consistently. The main point I was trying to make is that KJ does not seem to be on the ball where strikers are concerned. Perhaps time will tell and Le Fondre would have been a bad buy but there have been many other strikers available during the last few years who would have been more suitable than the failed signings I previously mentioned.

Hopefully we can do better than Priskin. Seen him a couple of times and he's a 10 goal player at best. Now the 25 man squads are out in the prem we should be looking to prise someone from there for a months loan to come in and help out the squad until Simpson and the other new boys have settled.

I think SeaLion broadly has this right.

KJ has a bit of a blind spot here but he needs to bed the new signings in before we rush to judgement. He's also been unlucky - I think Batt has potential and Theo seemed to be beginning to perform and had to be shipped out. I'm sure in this area you need to take on a number of strikers on to find that magic combination that makes things work. Luck does play its part - you can have 2 good strikers (e.g. Claridge and Harris) - but they did not work as a pairing. So I don't think there is one person who will be a magic bullet but once it does start to work you need to hang on to them.
Maybe we need someone who is a specialist in this area to work with the strikers - like there is a gk coach for the stoppers.

But let's hope Lions find it soon - I'm not enjoying Saturdays at present.
